After the first, pretty unimpressive teaser trailer for Triple Tap here’s the theatrical trailer for Derek Yee’s thriller starring Louis Koo and Danie Wu as gun-blazing arch-enemies.

Champion competitive marksman Ken stumbles into the middle of an armoured van robbery. He sees a policeman held hostage and shoots and kills four of the robbers. One of the robbers escapes and the policeman survives. The case is handled by Jerry Chang, whom Ken knows from having recently beaten him in a shooting match. Ken is found not guilty in court – for killing the robbers – but soon after, Ken is attacked by the escaped robber Pang Tao. Their confrontation reveals a very different background story and brings about a myriad of lies and traps and changes in relationships as Jerry and Ken try to outsmart each other.

It's from one of the acknowledged leaders of current Hong Kong film. It features an all star cast. It also features reportedly thousands of rounds fired. So why am I not more excited about Derek Yee's Triple Tap? Is anyone else out there feeling this new trailer more than I am? Because where I'm sitting it's just not connecting.

Although I’m not a fan of director Derek Yee’s disappointing Jackie Chan vehicle “The Shinjuku Incident,” I am rather impressed with the trailer for his upcoming action saga “Triple Tap”. Sure, it looks like your typical Hong Kong crime picture, and, yes, the storyline isn’t exactly the most creative endeavor you’ve ever encountered, but there’s something about the trailer that’s effectively snagged my attention. Is this the result of an extremely well-designed preview? Nobody knows at this point. However, I’m willing to give the film the benefit of the doubt. What can I say? I’m a sucker for extreme Asian action. Here’s the synopsis, courtesy of 24 Frames Per Second: Champion competitive marksman Ken stumbles into the middle of an armoured van robbery. He sees a policeman held hostage and shoots and kills four of the robbers. One of the robbers escapes and the policeman survives.

More action, more gunplay, and more mean and moody glances - between the two big name pretty boys leads - than you can shake a stick at. It’s the full trailer for “Shinjuku Incident” director Derek Yee’s latest shoot-em-up Triple Tap. An added bonus is its English subtitled, and its all looking pretty good actually. As always, see the bullets fly from the link below. Synopsis: Champion competitive marksman Ken stumbles into the middle of an armoured van robbery. In this first teaser trailer for Derek Yee’s upcoming action thriller Triple Tap (at least thematically related to Double Tap the 2000 film and the shooting technique), Louis Koo can show of his impressive shooting skills. The other shootouts in the film probably won’t be as unidirectional like the one shown in the teaser as Koo’s adversary played by Daniel Wu has also spent some time at the shooting ranch.

We previously mentioned Derek Yee's upcoming gun bonanza thriller 槍王之王 (Triple Tap), starring Louis Koo, Daniel W, Charlene Choi and Li Bingbing, which recently completed its shoot in utmost secrecy. And why would you shut yourself off and work a few months away from cameras and the rather noisy Hk press? So you can devise the most diabolical shootouts Hk has seen in a while.
The director of 門徒 (Protégé) is coming back with this psychological thriller starring Koo as Kwan Yau-Fu, a master sharpshooter who meets fellow marksman and police officer Chi-Wai (Wu) in the final match of an Ipsc contest. Using The Film Catalogue's synopsis:
"Champion competitive marksman Ken comes across an armored van robbery. He sees a policeman held hostage and shoots and kills four of the robbers. One of the robbers escapes and the policeman survives. The case is handled by Jerry Chang, whom Ken...

Well, well. After waging a very public PR battle around his Jackie Chan starring drama The Shinjuku Incident - a battle he lost with the film being banned in mainland China and released in a cut version in Hong Kong despite his protestations - veteran director has gone the exact opposite route with new gunplay action thriller Triple Tap. Despite an incredibly high profile cast including Louis Koo, Daniel Wu, Cahrlene Choi and Chapman To, Yee managed to keep this one entirely out of the public eye until it was entirely finished with principal photography, keeping his actors hard at work on an entirely closed set. What's it about?
After a close battle, the more experienced Kwan Yau-fu (Louis Koo) finally triumphs over first-time contestant, policeman Chong Chi-wai (Daniel Wu) but both strikes up a friendship. But when Kwan foils an armed robbery and becomes a public hero despite killing a cop,...
