Kim : It's Valentine's Day!
Cleo Sertori : Go on, that doesn't mean you can behave like this!

Cleo Sertori : Because I have to. Because you're my little sister.
Kim : Well, I'm not your 'little' sister anymore, okay? Besides, you're just jealous. What did Lewis get you? A bag of bait?

Kim : I just wanna find out who likes me the most. And I've got it down to two. It's either Kyle or Corey.
Cleo Sertori : I can't believe you're making them compete for you!
Kim : Oh, you can't tell me what to do!
[passes Dad on her way out]
Kim : Tell her, Dad!
Don Sertori : Tell her what? What's that all about?
Cleo Sertori : Oh, Dad, I think it's time you had the talk.
Don Sertori : The talk? What talk?
Cleo Sertori : The talk.
[sighs]
Don Sertori : [wide-eyed as he realizes] That talk. I don't think so. The kid's not ready. Only yesterday she was... finger-painting and riding on ponies. And she's... my little girl.
Cleo Sertori : [shakes her head] Not anymore...

Cleo Sertori : [as Kim is busy reading texts on her cell] How did it go?
Don Sertori : Great. I think I really got through to her. Oh, okay, it was
[whispers:]
Don Sertori : horrible. She already knew everything. You know they have a class at school for that?
Cleo Sertori : Yeah.
[chuckles]
Don Sertori : It's not easy, you know. Your mother used to handle things like this.
Cleo Sertori : Don't worry, Dad, you're doing a great job.
Don Sertori : Mm. Yeah.
[Kim snaps her phone shut]
Don Sertori : Kim! Wait!
[she's annoyed]
Don Sertori : I... I want you to promise me you're not to bring those boys over again.
Kim : But, Dad!
Don Sertori : Not with either me or Cleo around.
[Kim sighs]
Don Sertori : Is that understood?
[she hesitates, and he grabs her cell]
Don Sertori : Maybe I'd just better hold on to this for a while.
Kim : [scoffs] What? Dad, that's my phone, you can't do that!
Don Sertori : Just for today. It's for the best. You'll see.
Kim : [regains composure] Okay, I understand. I know you're just looking out for me.
[with a smile:]
Kim : And I promise I won't see those guys again.
Don Sertori : Really? You won't?
Kim : Of course not. Anything for you.
[across the room, Cleo scoffs]

Cleo Sertori : What was all that about?
Kim : What? You don't believe me?
Cleo Sertori : Oh, let me think. No.
Kim : Right. I only said that to keep Dad happy.
Cleo Sertori : Kim! If Dad catches you with any of those boys...
Kim : Well, maybe I should be with Mom then.
[gets up]
Kim : I'm old enough to do what I want and you can't stop me!
[goes off]

Kim : You totally ruined my Valentine's Day.
Cleo Sertori : And you wrecked mine, Kim.
Kim : Sorry.
[sighs]
Kim : You're such a pain.
Cleo Sertori : Yeah, you were.
[sits down on bed]
Kim : And so were you.
Cleo Sertori : Okay, maybe I was a bit too. But why do it? Why try to get attention from all those boys?
Kim : I guess I just wanted some excitement. When you started dating, you were always hanging out with your friends. Like you were hiding some big secret or something.
[Cleo looks down]
Kim : I guess I just felt left behind. When Mom left, it was even worse.
Cleo Sertori : [shrugs, shakes her head] I'm sorry. I should have been there for you.
[Kim smiles, and is about to go out the door:]
Cleo Sertori : So who's it gonna be? Kyle or Corey?
Kim : Uh, I don't know. They're both a bit boring, really.
[Cleo smiles]
Kim : But there is this one guy. He's really cute though. Timothy Wilkins. He's even started shaving his chin.
Cleo Sertori : Oh, well, you should invite him over here.
Kim : [smiling] Yeah.
Cleo Sertori : But ask Dad first!
