Raimi Should Do More Comedy
shelbythuylinh18 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Really should be in the doing more comedy. As he is coming off "I Robot" and that over in an Oscar win as the late Freddy Mercury there

He has a charm about him and in that over in the trying to really in the showing a different side of him. Pete Davidson who plays him in skits plays aside him in the "Squid Game" spoof.

One of the very few bright spots with Daniel Craig making a cameo.

Huge Improvement

This episode was a HUGE improvement from its two predecessors! Rami Malek may be a great serious actor, but he brought some comedy chops! His Pete Davidson impression was also spot-on. I was too big on Young Thug's performance, but it was okay. I liked this episode.

Great episode!

Fantastic episode! Rami Malek was hysterical and the rest of the cast was just as good! The sketches had me in tears, and that doesn't happen often. Looking forward to the rest of the season!

Knocked it OUT OF THE PARK

Congratulations SNL, this episode ROCKS!

Flat out hysterical. Not a sketch out of whack. The Game Show brought me to tears. Rami is so talented. Thank you guys for stepping up!

When did the writers quit?
Steve_Holt_17 October 2021
The first sketch after the opening monologue was completely unworthy of being in that spot. In better years that's the kind of sketch that would be the final sketch spot before the cast all comes out and says goodnight.

I haven't watched snl in 2 or 3 years, but while visiting my parents let it play. Big mistake. There seems to be no creativity in the process anymore.

The perfect encapsulation of the issues with this show
wildcatian17 October 2021
In this episode, we get the great Rami Malek, the actor known for Bohemian Rhapsody, Mr. Robot, and recently No Time to Die, the finale to the recent James Bond series. However, not once in this episode do we see any attempt to satirize his roles in Bohemian Rhapsody or Mr. Robot. This would be the perfect time to do a skit on either one, but SNL decides not to. As if it couldn't get any worse, Daniel Craig (James Bond himself!) makes an appearance on the show and is put in the WORST skit of the whole episode, perhaps even the whole entire show!!! Why the hell do they even bother with this show anymore? Come on SNL, you had the two biggest characters of the recent (and very popular!) James Bond film ON YOUR SHOW and you decide NOT TO DO ANY JAMES BOND SKITS!!??

This is exactly why I've grown to hate this show as of late. There is no doubt in my mind that there is talent amongst some of the cast of SNL and amongst many of the hosts (except for Kim Kardashian), but Lorne Michaels (and the other writers) have NO CLUE how to use them properly. This season has definitely been one of it's worst. I think it's time for SNL to take a step back and realize how far it has veered off course and maybe consider hiring new writers and getting rid of the annoying cast members. If this show doesn't get any better, I think it would be wise of them to hang up their hat and call it a day. This show has had a long (but rocky) run and if nothing changes soon (and they don't call it quits), I think the show is going to crash and burn (I know the ratings already have).

Phoned It In

As Mad is to Cracked, so "SNL" is to "Mad TV." Tonight's installment seemed more like an episode of "Mad TV" with the exception of the final goofy sketch which did elicit some inward chortles, guffaws and snickers on my part. They can't all be gems. I forget who performed the musical interludes. Chloe Fineman's imitation of Jennifer Coolidge was a memorable high point.

"Hello, operator? Get me the comedy police."

It stinks
rmmil18 October 2021
This episode just wasn't funny. I didn't laugh once. It's a shame, I know Rami can act, it's the writers who are obviously phoning it in. I know I could do better, most anyone could do better.

The opening skit especially portended danger, as it set the stage by also being the worst skit of the night.

2 stars for Weekend Update. Hire better writers. Or try harder, actually use your stars in appropriate ways.

So shamelessly lazy
vonnoosh22 November 2021
I still can't believe NO ONE bothered to come up with a Bond skit. How do you let that slip by? What is the point of watching this show if they can't even come up with that? Anything would have worked even rip off the Star Trek restauarant idea, ANYTHING, but no. Were they too afraid to write one? That is the state of comedy, being terrified to write something out of line with someone who considers his or herself a protected species (like studio execs). This js weaker than a cup of herbal tea after the tea bag sat in tepid water for only 15 seconds.

Is this even a comedy show anymore?
michaelely-0162717 October 2021
I'm a lifelong fan of SNL, but I am sorry and sad to say that this season so far hasn't brought out a single laugh from me yet. And my sense of humor isn't hard to get a laugh out of. Weekend Update is still the only thing I really like about the show. That and Kenan, Bowen Yang and Pete Davidson are carrying the entire series now. Kate McKinnon was nowhere to be seen in this entire episode. I'm worried that this entire season is going to be trash. Rami Malek was wooden and unfunny. Daniel Craig was great though the few times they had him in sketches.
