Directors Matt Gray and Piers Marchant met while playing in a Philadelphia-based Ultimate Frisbee league - hence the name of their production company, Stall Ten Films.
Mr. Chen's apartment is actually the house of Piers Marchant in the Queen Village section of Philadelphia.

The original screenplay was conceived by Mr. Marchant on a long solo drive from Tucson, AZ up to Minneapolis, MN, where he was visiting Tommy Love Kubasik.
