This episode adds beautifully to the lore of Star Wars and is a great episode.

We get a love interest of Obi Wan. We get to see Mandalorian society and the rise of Death Watch. We get the appearance of the Darksaber. It is full of excellent material.

The script is cool with some really good dialogue and character interactions. There is romance and humour done really well. Plus we get some great action.

My rating: 9/10

The Mandalore Plot

This is not a big war episode, but it still stands as one of my favorites. I love the introduction to this new threat of Death Watch, and looking back, it is incredible how pivotal this single episode has become for the entire "Star Wars" franchise. The relationship between Obi-Wan and Duchess Satine is charming and their interactions throughout the episode were definite highlights. Obi-Wan's final battle with Pre Vizsla (and the introduction of the now famous darksaber) felt raw but was satisfying in how one-sided it was. All the lore that is set up in this episode went on to become a huge pinnacle for the franchise, so it is difficult to not look at the episode through those eyes, but even on its own, I think this is a truly remarkable half hour of television.

The Mandalore Plot

Warning: Spoilers
The Mandalore Plot adds a whole lot of plot to the Mandalorians, it introduces new Mandalorian groups and has a multitude of fantastic scenes.

We get a look at the Mandalorian society and their culture, something only really previously seen in the Expanded Universe. We get the first canon appearance of the dark saber, (as far as i know.) Of course you cant forget the romance between Obiwan and Satine either, it sets the stage in this episode and is rather interesting. I loved the battle of Obi and Vizla, it felt very powerful. I really liked Vizla executing his own men when they showed weakness, i was suprised that something so dark would be included in a "childrens" tv show and thus it was my favourite moment of the episode.

Warning: Spoilers
I loved this episode, especially when connecting the dots with the mandalorian. The dark saber which appers in the mandalorian serie, you can see how Dave Filoni's work in both have definitely paid off. It gets easier to understand the life of Mandalore BBY.
