Funny with some uncomfortable moments

Warning: Spoilers
When I started watching this series on crunchyroll I thought it would be another school comedy and that the main characters interest in underwear would just lead to some fairly innocent hijinks. While this is true there are also a large number of scenes were the young teens are seen in there undies and several were they aren't even wearing that much! The star of the show is Nayu, she is the grand daughter of a famous underwear designer and lives with her elder step-brother who is also in the trade. When she arrives at her new school she is quick to start telling the other girls what sort of underwear they should be wearing; not for any salacious reason but for comfort. After benefiting from Nayu's advice her friends Yako and Haruka join her in forming the 'underwear appreciation society'. They are also joined by Hiroki, a boy who is constantly embarrassed by them and Kiyoni a girl who likes undies of a more racy variety! They are frequently joined by there teacher Tamaki who also benefits from Nayu's advice about bras. As you might have realised by now there is a lot of underwear in this show; it is just about all they talk about for much of the time; they don't just talk about it either; they design it, wear different types and Nayu frequently feels the other girls, and her teacher's, breasts to see if they are wearing the right bras. The series follows the group as they initially have difficulty gaining acceptance by other pupils and teachers at school but eventually come to be sought out for advice and help on clothing design.

Watching this I must say I know how Hiriko felt; I didn't know where to look as the girls showed their under garments... they are meant to be twelve/thirteen after all. It would have been less awkward if the characters had been several years older but then the whole point of many scenes was that they are girls still developing and coming to terms with puberty. Aside from the slightly dodgy premise to the show there were quite a lot of good laughs and an emotionally touching ending. The characters were pretty good despite their strange interest in underwear; they were well designed and the animation looked good. While it was entertaining enough I have a hard time recommending it as it also had scenes that made me feel uncomfortable watching it; even the end credits featured a girl lowering her undies almost to the point of indecency.

These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.
