What happened to this show?
This show used to be the pinnacle of daytime excellence but it has slipped into cliché story lines like Philip returning from the dead. He faked his death instead of driving while intoxicated. He fled to Australia where he could live freely as a gay man. Are they going to bring Katherine's late husband, Rex Sterling, back from the grave too? Then Adam Newman, the actor who portrays him has done a remarkable job. He keeps me watching but his time is running out. Adam Newman is done in Genoa City no matter how they write them out. The only crime on this show has been the writing. Lately, Katherine finding that Tucker McCall is her son instead of a daughter. Caroline Aaron did a short stint as a female version of Dog-the bounty hunter but we knew she wouldn't last. They replaced the first Tucker McCall played by William Russ who did a great, impressive job with soap veteran Stephen Nichols. Unfortunately, I grew to like Russ before the switch. I don't like how this show is turning out. Bell might be spinning in his grave over the story lines and the craziness. In my opinion, Michael Muhney's performance as Adam Newman while playing a sociopath has been nothing short of brilliance. I hope he sticks around but it won't happen anytime soon or let him go with a bang and a question mark. I was happy that they finally rid of Brad but they also wrote out his daughter, Colleen, which was wrong. Poor Traci who is left without her only child. I don't know what the writers are doing but it's been nuts. Usually, Young and Restless soars above the rest and is slowly coming close to it's peers on storyline level.
