It took four years for the film to hit cinema screens. Filming began in May 2004 until November 2004, with ADR work and additional filming taking place over 2005. It wasn't until the end of 2008, that the film went on a limited cinema release, but has never been made available on DVD or Blu-ray.
During production, many of the residents of Redcar, North Yorkshire weren't happy with the production being filmed in the town and protested at the film's content, which resulted in the director making last minute script changes, including the removal of a fight scene between rival biker gangs which was to take place in the town square.
