- A college student suffers a death at the hands of an animatronic dinosaur from a Las Vegas show, while the death of a man whose daughter and friend disappeared years ago is tied a new lead on the locations of their dead bodies.
- College boy Brian Lister fell to his death, backstage at night, on the teeth of one of Kyle Adams's Australian 'Walking With dinosaurs' firm's mechanical stars. His girlfriend and her other lover Travis Kilborn lie, trying to hide their biology classmates triangle. Wealthy Phil Kohner was murdered at home. The main item missing was his favorite wrist watch, a gift by his lover, the mother of the girl who was his daughter's buddy until both were killed by Eli Holt, who is still in jail and never divulged the whereabouts of the girls' corpses, one of which is now found.—KGF Vissers
- In the desert, Langston, Hodges and David Phillips investigate a young man found with strange marks in his body, like a giant animal bite. After the autopsy, Langston and Hodges go to a new show in Las Vegas, Walking with Dinosaurs, at the Las Vegas Arena. They interview the manager Kyle Adams that show them the animatronic dinosaurs. They find blood in the T-Rex's teeth and Henry identifies the victim as the college student Brian Lister, who was specializing in herbivorous dinosaurs. Meanwhile, Catherine, Greg, Nick and Det. Frankie Reed investigate the death of Phil Kohler in his own house. Nick recognizes Phil as a man who had his teenage daughter kidnapped with her best friend and killed by a man called Eli Holt, but their bodies have not been found. The first impression is suicide but soon they investigate further and see that Phil was murdered. Now they need to review the old case to see who might have killed Phil.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- "CSI" - "Cold Blooded" - Oct. 28, 2010
So we've got two cases in Sin City tonight as the team splits up to work on a new murder and a homicide tied to an old case.
In the first case Ray investigates the body of a young man found in the desert. He has what looks like, unbelievably, dinosaur bite marks on his body. It turns out that he was a paleontology student at WLVU who had recently gone to see the "Walking With Dinosaurs" show. He and a very excitable Hodges go to the show and chat with the tour manager. When looking at the animatronic/person operated figures they find blood on the T. Rex figure's teeth.
They bring in the guy's tearful fiancee who said they shared a love of the graceful brachiosaurs. What she neglected to mention and that Ray has video of is her making out with the guy sitting next to her when her fiance left his seat. That guy it turns out is a fellow classmate at WLVU. The three of them snuck back into the exhibit after hours and the victim had himself hoisted up via cherrypicker crane to look at the brachiosaur figure, his girlfriend "accidentally" moved the crane too quickly and bumped him into the brachiosaur, he fell onto the lower teeth of the T. Rex below, pushed himself off and fell to his death on the stage. Instead of calling 911, the adulterous pair took his body and dumped it in the desert. Ray wonders if the crane incident was actually an "accident." The fiancee says she wants a lawyer.
In the night's second storyline the murder of a man whose daughter had been abducted and murdered five years earlier with a friend opens some questions about the conviction, in which Nick was a key player.
It turns out the man was having an affair with the mother of the other victim and her hair was found at the scene. When Nick, Greg, and Detective Reed (Katee Sackhoff) go to find the mother there is no one home but there is a photo of a skeleton of a young girl in a shallow grave. Unfortunately for her, the photo isn't of her daughter but the daughter of the dead man.
Back at HQ the gang theorizes she for some reason brought the photo to her former lover, they fought and she shot him. Nick can't believe this since he remembers the fragile woman he tried to help back in the day when the case was current.
Nick insists that the right guy is in jail. It turns out that he's not a happy guy though, ten days earlier the convicted murderer tried to commit suicide and is now in a coma. They discover the young girl's mother. They assume that the murderer must have had someone on the outside working for him since the picture of the grave was taken while he's been in jail.
Using clues in the photo, Nick and Greg find the grave and bring the body to Robbins who determines COD as strangulation. The killer also cut off several fingers, probably using a bandsaw. Det. Reed re-interviews folks from five year's previous and learns that the killer's uncle, now dead, had a woodshop the killer loved working in. There they find bloodstains and other evidence that prove unequivocally that the right man is in jail and find the purse of the other victim.
When they get leads on that girl's mother trying to pawn her possessions, including her car and her now dead former lover's gold watch, they track her and a bag of money to some storage lockers in a public park. She cries it's her "last chance" as they close in on her.
Back at HQ she explains the murder was extorting her, saying he would send her maps of the graves for $5,000 apiece. The first map she got didn't lead to her daughter, however, but to that of her former lover. She went to him to beg him for the money to get the other map. He refused but gave her his watch to sell. The only problem with all of this is that she got the letter about the maps three days ago, meaning that either a man in a coma sent a letter or someone else was conning her.
Turns out that it was the latter. When the prison guard arrived and the murderer was killing himself he found a suicide note and the two maps. At first he thought it must be treasure maps. But when he realized they were graves he decided to extort the mom. When she called to say she wanted the other map she mentioned that she had told the dad of the other victim. The guard couldn't have that loose end so he went and killed him.
Greg helps Nick fill in the burned map-- when they went after the guard he tried to burn it in a trash can-- and they find the body. Nick goes to tell the mother they finally found her daughter's body.
