The film was subsequently completed with the actors finishing their scenes and dubbing duties, before the production house suffered financial problems and release plans were stalled.
Following UTV's aggressive acquisition by Disney in 2012 the film remains embroiled in an ownership battle. The director John Owen remains committed to securing the films release.
Disney has repeatedly refused the director permission to show his own work. However after an embarrassing climb down triggered by an appeal on Facebook by the directors mother, Disney allowed a one off screening under the title, The Goa Run, at the Raindance Film Festival in London in September 2014.
John Owen is the first British filmmaker to direct a Bollywood film.
Cinematographer Alphonse Roy shot the film on 35mm film in Goa with stunning results.
