  Jack : When you told me it was the wrong thing to do, and it would never happen again, was that just a line to shut me up or what?

  Andrew : No. I meant it then and I still do. Come in. I'm getting ready to split. I quit this morning. Then the cops came around and gave me a summons, and a restraining order. Nothing to stay for now.

  Jack : Were you going to say goodbye or anything?

  Andrew : No. I thought I'd better just make a clean break.

  Jack : Why did you do it?

  Andrew : Ask Donna.

  Jack : You want me to ask Donna why you smacked her?

  Andrew : Well, I didn't do it for the hell of it. I love her. It was all going so well, and she had to stuff it up. Did she think she could give Rob the come-on and I wouldn't react?

  Jack : So she deserved to get beaten up?

  Andrew : I didn't "beat her up". I just lost it for a couple of seconds. The important thing is we could have got it together if she'd stayed and talked it through. I really thought she'd give it more of a shot this time.

  Jack : You expected her to stay after what you did to her? Man, you are insane.

  Andrew : You don't know anything about it. I trusted her and she lied to me.

  Jack : You're lying to *yourself*. That's what's happening.

  Andrew : I don't need to hear this.

  Jack : Sorry, but I think you do.
