Inept B-movie throwback
Leofwine_draca25 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
PIRANHA-MAN VS. WEREWOLF-MAN: HOWL OF THE PIRANHA is a very long title for a very cheap and inept Z-grade indie horror movie. It sounds like a throwback to the B-movie horrors of old, but in actuality this is a typical indie full of stoner characters sitting around in their houses and chatting while little happens. At the very end, a guy in a piranha mask and a guy in a werewolf mask duke it out in the woods. Expect lots of titillation en route in a bid to keep the viewers interested in this non-starter.

My Review Of "Piranha-Man VS Werewolf-Man
ASouthernHorrorFan5 October 2012
Directed by Dorian Knight and Steve Goldenberg and is a film that attempts to celebrate everything we love about the classic monster movies of the 50's. It is a super low budget flick that pits costume creature against costume creature. The rivalry between the fish-like Piranha Man and the canine Wolf Man is one of brutal murder, familial kidnappings, stalking, and incest! When the decades old fight begins to effect the life of investigative journalist Lexi Glass, she finds that sometimes you need to become the story in order to report the story. She discovers the battle of a lifetime along with the horrible secret of her family's past!

Even though this is a really low budget film with obvious "suit" bound monsters and screams cheese-fest the movie could have been so much more – could have but didn't. The story was actually a pretty cool concept that has moments when everything seems to be going right. Yet the film takes a dramatically outlandish turn with strange direction and plot twists that just manage to complicate and frustrate the simplicity of the film's storyline. There were clever moments of humor and well crafted death scenes that mask the low level of special effects used and the obvious use of rubber masks and costume monsters. It could have been a perfectly cheesy yet entertaining flick. Unfortunately half way through the film it takes a wrong turn into complete absurdity filled with over thought character details and plot twists. Not to mention the whole mystical dream guide sequence that just (even for a film called Piranha-Man VS Werewolf-Man) seems a bit asinine. I didn't expect much going into this film but the initial acting and story seemed tacky yet acceptable so I almost began to enjoy the low budget fill of the whole thing until it hit that deeper dramatic and pointless part with unnecessary back story that fell flat. It would have worked better with just one director with one simple vision adequately executed instead of the mess that this film became. I have to say the film just became to hard to watch and I was thankful when it was over. : (

Silly,Very silly film about two unlike species of hybrid creatures fighting each other over a human woman.

Have to believe there some tongues in cheeks during the making of this non-epic.

There is some lovely victims of the female stereotypes, In varying stages of undress and shapes and sizes, hair color and height.

So,GET very drunk and have faint memories of all the PIRANHA movies you love and all the WEREWOLF movies you consumed and realize this isn't one of those,But try to enjoy anyway.

Larry Buchanan must be smiling in his grave,The Torch has passed on….

Battle of the rubber masks
nogodnomasters30 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The film starts off as if it was going to be an interesting camp film with rubber masks and planes on a string and then fizzles. Lexi Glass (Carrie Long) is a reporter working on a story of a blonde serial killer who sounds like a wolf. The plot gets twisty, but in a dumb way which makes you want to turn the whole thing off. BTW we are rooting for the Piranha-Man because...

Guide: F-word, nudity.

"Teach Me To Destroy!"...

The title, PIRANHA-MAN VS. WEREWOLF-MAN: HOWL OF THE PIRANHA should tell you all you need to know about what you're getting into. Yes, this is a ludicrous schlock pizza with extra cheeeze. It's helped massively by exhibiting no discernable budget.

Plot: Someone / something is murdering blonde women in horrible ways. A blonde female reporter has nightmares about the deaths.

Right here is where the wheels fly off!

The reporter is kidnapped, wakes up in a strange place, and is treated to flashbacks of her "dream warden" (a man in a Mexican wrestler-type mask).

Nothing really matters or makes sense from this point.

Piranha-Man is introduced randomly, more murders occur, and the "dream warden" blathers on. Scenes appear and shift for no real reason. Etc.

It seems like they were going for a "someone slipped me LSD!" experience for the viewer, but ended up with this slippery sludge-burger instead. The boredom factor is also quite extreme.

Slap yourself silly prior to viewing, that way you'll be prepared for pain...
