Rodinia and Pangea were super-continents formed when all the land masses of the Earth merged due to plate tectonics. If all the land merged so too did the oceans into super-oceans we call Merovia and Panthalassa. With no land masses to obstruct their global currents and huge circulatory systems spanning a hemisphere these oceans were likely far more turbulent than the oceans we now know.
