THIS MAN DAWSON – One By One

This is episode 18 of the 1959-60 Police series, THIS MAN DAWSON. The series ran for a total of 39 episodes. Keith Andes headlines the series about an Ex-Military Officer hired to run a big city Police Department. The city is never named. Each episode starts and finishes with William Conrad doing the narration of the night's story.

Police Chief Keith Andes is attending the execution of Betty Lou Gerson. Gerson is getting the gas chamber for murdering several elderly gents and taking their savings. Gerson is a dabbler in the occult and voodoo. She swears that she will return and kill all who were on the jury which convicted her.

The newspaper knows a good story when it hears it, and runs with it. Several days later, one of the jurors keels over with a heart attack. The coroner does an exam and rules out foul play. It was a plain ordinary heart attack. Then another one of the jurors turns up dead as a doornail. The press is making a big deal out of it and the Police are not amused.

It seems that the second person was killed. The Police and Andes soon discover that a follower of Miss Gerson is planning to bump off all the jury members. The man, Jan Arvan, is slightly loose in the brain pan and took the first death as a sign from Gerson.

The Police hit the pavement is search of the man. They set up a trap to try and lure the nut-job in. This they do and it just about ends up with a Police Detective getting killed. Arvan is sent off for some time in a padded cell and the city is safe again.
