Sex & Nudity

  • Some references: Sean says Cathy "cockblocked" Adam after she called Adam's girlfriend, and then goes on to give Adam advice on how to talk to women (such as "would you mind if I kissed you?" and "would you mind if I touched your privates?").
  • Cathy tells Dr. Todd she's going to be the one to "pop his death cherry" because she will likely be his first patient that dies.

Violence & Gore

  • The Bee Man places several bees on Cathy's back during a bee sting therapy procedure. They sting her and she is in some obvious pain.

Profanity

  • Brief usage of the word "fuck," along with "goddamn," "cockblocked," "shit," "Jesus," and other milder profanities.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Cathy and Dr. Todd enjoy drinks at a pub after her bee sting procedure. She later remarks that he may be drunk.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The bee sting procedure, while comical, could be unsettling to people afraid of either bees/stings or medical procedures.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • Dr. Todd kisses Cathy while dancing in a pub with her, but she pulls away and politely declines his offer, as she is both married and terminally ill.

Violence & Gore

  • Marlene pulls a gun on Adam when she has an Alzheimer's episode. She threatens to "blow his brains out" if he doesn't get out of her house. Later, Paul comes over and frantically tries to help Marlene find the gun. He yells at her and tells her to stay away from his son. A few minutes later, Paul is outside working on his window when he hears a gunshot. We later are told that Marlene committed suicide.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Marlene becomes very upset after Paul yells at her. It is clear she is in despair. Although no part of her death is seen or glimpsed on screen, we do hear the gunshot and see Cathy's face when she finds out what happened, and later as she sobs while reading a note Marlene left behind for her. This is extremely emotional, especially for anyone who has had someone close to them commit suicide, especially an elderly person.
