One of the worst from the Beck series!
emilhagberg-8463219 March 2022
Beck is probably the most popular cop film series here in Sweden and I've been a fan of these films since the very start, though I don't like every single Beck movie made. I don't think it's a secret that the series has been running on fumes for many years now. I actually stopped watching when they removed the popular character Gunvald Larsson, but recently I decided to give the newer Beck movies a try. Sure, they have made a couple of good ones but they're not anywhere near the quality of the early movies. I consider Den gråtande polisen being one of the worst Beck movies ever being made. This is just political propaganda, which I don't like in any kind when I'm watching a movie.

Woke bs

Don't waste your time watching this one or the one before it. I don't know who's pulling the strings nowadays at the production but they should be fired. It doesnt even feel like a Beck movie anymore, it has just become a huge mess where they try to force politics and woke agendas down peoples throats.

Beck: The Crying Cop
Tweekums29 May 2022
Following the death of an unarmed fourteen year old boy by a police officer tensions are high. During a demonstration a Molotov cocktail is thrown and a policewoman is badly burnt; the assailant escapes. Not long afterwards there is a lethal attack on a group of police officers and cadets. Beck's team leads the investigation; it isn't helped by the fact that the two officers who were the first on the scene are those Beck considers to be the worst in Sweden! His grandson, a police cadet who should have been on the bus, helps with the investigation.

I was rather surprised to see the very negative reviews for this episode as I thought it was the best of the season and rather enjoyed it. Things started well with the demonstration and escalated nicely after the murderous attack on the police. Suspects quickly emerge, although I'm sure most viewers will guess the identity of the culprits early on the motives aren't too obvious. Having Beck's grandson in the investigation felt like the makers were preparing for the series to be able to continue with a Beck in a lead role after Martin's eventual retirement... only time will tell if that theory is right though. As usual the acting was pretty solid throughout. Overall I think I liked this more than most; watch it and make up your own mind.

These comments are based on watching the episode in Swedish with English subtitles.

Don't see it.

Get the old directing team back! The films are only getting worse and worse...

Don't waste your time. Chose one of the old Beck movies instead, between 1997 and 2016.

Another virtue signalling failure by Lisa Ohlin
Jaria_Swe20 March 2022
Somewhat better than "58 Minuter" but the pathetic virtue signalling really makes me lose interest. Get's a bit better over time but still the second worst Beck ever made if you ask me. "Directed by Lisa Ohlin" is a warning sign going forward.

Pure crap

Warning: Spoilers
Is this some kind of project for children in kindergarten. If it is adults who have produced this, they should go to kindergarten. Making Kristansson and Kvant criminals is criminal in itself. Do not waste 1:30 on this crap. Better to volunteer in kindergarten.
