    Danny Ruskin : [Slight chuckle]  Fraud charge is *very* hard to prove, especially when nothing changed hands. In fact, now that I think of it, I'm actually innocent.

  • Danny Ruskin : [at Angela and Charlotte's graves]  So, this is it, huh? It's nice. Classy. They'd like it, I guess, if they had a preference.

    Patrick Jane : You know, this is the first time I've been here since the funeral.

    Patrick Jane : 'Cause they're not here.

    Danny Ruskin : Hey, who knows for sure? Maybe they're up there right now looking down at us. You know, Annie's saying "Lighten up, you dummies."

    Patrick Jane : Yeah, maybe.

    Danny Ruskin : Yeesh. I'm sorry I asked to come. Who knew a trip to the cemetery would be such a downer?

    Patrick Jane : Sorry. It's irrational. No reason to be sad. You gonna give 'em those flowers or what?

    Danny Ruskin : [laying his bouquet down on the ground]  Guilt is for marks. You know that, right?

    Patrick Jane : Yeah.

  • Patrick Jane : [getting slapped by Samantha]  Ah! Uh... what was that for?

    Samantha : Detroit.

    Patrick Jane : Oh, yeah. Fair enough.

  • Patrick Jane : No no no no no you're going about it all wrong detective, you're coming straight outta the gate with bad cop. I mean, you do a good bad cop, you are intimidating, I'm not gonna lie to you. But-but now let's bring good cop out. He's nicer, more pleasant, we build a rapport, you... maybe you say something like "are you thirsty?" and I say "I'd love a cup of tea."

  • Patrick Jane : [to Van Pelt]  If this were for real, this old fox would have stripped you bare.

    [Jane hands some jewelry back to Van Pelt] 

    Nicki : This sweet piece of fruit is a cop? Damn! Guess I'm losing my touch.

  • Patrick Jane : She didn't want the carny life. She hated it. She wanted to get out. We - we both did. And you know how hard that is. That was - that was our thing. That's what we did together. We - we escaped.

    Danny Ruskin : Nice escape plan, bro. You got her killed!

    Patrick Jane : Thanks for reminding me.

    Danny Ruskin : Forgive you?

    Patrick Jane : Not for my sake, for yours. Because hating me is just a waste of your energy. It's pointless. Just - move on. Drop it. Find something to love.

  • Patrick Jane : County fair starts Saturday.

    Teresa Lisbon : So Danny'll be there?

    Patrick Jane : Well, no, it's not that simple. But someone there will know where he is.

    Teresa Lisbon : He's a carny like you used to be?

    Patrick Jane : "Carny" is a very broad term, Lisbon. Uh... Danny's more show biz, but it... it's been a while.

    Teresa Lisbon : Before last night, when was the last time you talked to him?

    Patrick Jane : When I called him to tell him what Red John had done.

  • Patrick Jane : But uh, my wife, she uh, she didn't want any part of it.

    Teresa Lisbon : Why?

    Patrick Jane : Carny's are good people. But uh, you know, you're either with the show or you're not. There's - there's nowhere in the middle. And if you're not with the show, then you're a mark. You're a sucker. And she didn't like that.

  • Patrick Jane : [arriving at a carnival looking for his brother-in-law]  You're not gonna need the badge. They're gonna tell you're a cop without it.

    Teresa Lisbon : Actually, people very rarely guess I'm a cop.

    Patrick Jane : Oh, yeah. Let me do the talking.

    Teresa Lisbon : When it's advisable.

    Patrick Jane : And don't mention Danny until I do.

    Teresa Lisbon : I'll be the judge of that.

  • Samantha : Danny doesn't always do what's best for his own best interest. Tendency to outfox himself.

    Patrick Jane : True. But he asked for my help. That's what I'm giving him.

  • Teresa Lisbon : [On the cellphone]  Jane, you have to come in. Danny could be dangerous. We're not looking to use deadly force, but things happen. It's not safe for you.

    Patrick Jane : Getting close to nabbing him, are you? Oh, that's good to know. Well, may the best man win, Lisbon.
