Patty discovers important information that High Star extracts terror suspects for the CIA and recruits her mentor Bill Herndon (Judd Hirsch) to investigate the company.—Anonymous
- The plot is predictable, the characters are shallow, and stereotypical. This is a typical anti-America plot written by America haters. Be prepared for disappointment because there is nothing unpredictable or exciting about this plot, especially if you have seen any of the numerous movies that Hollywood regularly produces about big government plotting to kill and/or silence innocent people.
We see a suspicious Middle Eastern man shave his beard and cut his hair. He proceeds to tape up a suspicious looking box, address it to Ellen, and deliver to the law firm. As she approaches the box on the table, the man, Nasim, appears opens the box and delivers a medallion from Chris. Nasim is a good guy.
Erickson decides to have Chris tortured to get the name of his secret contact (Nasim) while he prepares to deliver a Christmas day sermon at his church. So we get the very predictable cut scenes with Erickson preaching while Chris is being tortured. Ho hum, how many times have we seen this trite and predictable contrast?
Meanwhile, Nasim is telling Ellen all about the horrible Americans kidnapping and killing innocent Afganis, including his own father. Unfortunately for Nasim, Ellen's phone is bugged and his location is discovered. He barely escapes being shot when a CIA operative interrupts the would be assassin and warns him to stop. Once again we have the very predictable CIA involvement in the nefarious goings on in Afghanistan.
Hewes brings in the drunken Herndon, a crusty old crusader who lost his law license in the pursuit of truth and justice, to help Ellen. Later in the show he tells Ellen that he did not find anything through his extensive network of contacts, but reveals to Hewes that he had information that he withheld because he does not believe Ellen is ready for the grave consequences of her actions. Hewes assures him that the plucky, tough Ellen can handle anything the big bad government can throw at her.
When Erickson reveals Nasim's name to the assassin, he is informed that Nasim has already been found which shocks Erickson as he realizes the torture was unnecessary.
