A predictable fluff movie that really has no substance but is entertaining and worth watching one time. I say B.
cosmo_tiger12 August 2012
"Kim Powers, a great movie, none of it would matter without Sammy in my life." Sam Baum (Gad) is an up-incoming screen writer. His new movie is creating a ton of buzz and the huge movie star Kim Powers (Duff) wants to be in it. The big problem is that he only wants his girlfriend Sammy to be in it. When her ex-husband shows up and moves in with them their relationship becomes strained. Even though this is pretty much a fluff movie and extremely predictable it is still an enjoyable movie. Everyonce in a while it is good to just put in a movie that you don't need to think about and is not stressful at all to watch. This is a movie like that. Nothing original and acting is a little iffy but this is a movie that keeps you watching and entertained. There really isn't that much to say about this at all other then that. Not really anything deep or thought provoking but it is entertaining and that's what a movie is supposed to be. Overall, a decent one time watch. I give it a B.

I Wanted to Like It
sylent1-9-19363912 August 2012
God knows I wanted to LIKE this movie...but the fact is none of the characters are even likable. The male lead is pathetic and needy, the female lead is manipulative and abusive. He writes a script about what happens to him day to day obviously and his life is uninteresting. No one should have to put up with what his girlfriend subjected him to daily and no one should be so needy that they would endure it. Most of the picture I just kept my eyes closed because I couldn't stand to watch these people's lives. I like indie movies...they are usually quirky and left field humorous. I didn't find any humor in this movie and I doubt I would have spent five minutes with any of the characters. Sorry. I really hate when someone trashes a movie, but if this the BEST idea someone could come up with for cinema then I can understand the volume of POV movies and found footage.I was in a good mood when I watched this movie but when it was over I felt like I had eaten something bad.

The biggest problem I had with the movie...

Warning: Spoilers
I saw this movie about a week ago and thought it was pretty good.

It follows the average story/plot of the Jonha Hill/Seth Rogan fat guy comedy getting the hot girl. So it was like watching any of those movies but done for no money. So take from that what you will.

I think Josh Gad is as funny as they come. I saw him in Book of Mormon this year and never laughed more. For being a character actor this is something 100% different than you are use to seeing of him. His girlfriend, played by Kristen Ruhlin, wasn't unique in any way but she did stand out performance wise as possibly the only serious actor in the bunch. Josh Gad and her together were very good and believable. The rest of the movie is a little goofy filled with super over the top acting characters, which is fun to watch and laugh at.

The story sort of jumped around at times and I wish it had focused more on one single plot line but it works. There were a few really stunning shots of the film. It opens in New York and then jumps to these random shots of her in New York later. Those were so cinematic and beautiful and simple to me, I wish I could see more of that movie.

The highlight being Charlie Sheen and his hat. He is so funny and made the movie for me. Being the type of movie it is, I expected it to be. The biggest problem I had with the movie was I thought it would be more over the top funny character slap stick funny, but Josh Gad and Kristen Ruhlin made it more into some film festival type film rather than a comedy. It was just not what I expected.

Highlights: Hilary Duff looking hot. Charlie Sheen poking fun at himself. Newman and The granny from Wedding Crashers.

Check it out for the Sheen factor

Best Movie I saw since January

Warning: Spoilers
First Off- I don't usually review or vote. So that's why I didn't give it a 10. Perfection is un- human.

I don't see a lot of movies but i went with a friend who had to drag me to go and i only went because it was a free ticket. That being said; I was pleasantly surprised.

Knew Josh Gad from Love and Other Drubs and The Rocker. Not a fan. I found him to be annoying and a huge over actor. However, in this movie he is brought down to reality with his girlfriend's performance, and I was really surprised by his performance. I had never seen Johnny Messner or Kristen Ruhlin before this film, I can say I am now fans of them. I knew Hilary Duff and Charlie Sheen (not impressed by any standard) but these are A list people so that was interesting to see them in this. I knew the True Blood girl, and think she's great in that. Obviously I know Newman from Seinfeld, he was typically funny in this.

It was funny like any romantic comedy, Knocked Up, has raunchy jokes, and this is packed with raunchy jokes for guys. However, it does have some heartfelt, moments with real emotion at times thanks to the main girl keeping the movie from being your typical straight to DVD flick. Having some strong independent actors like her and Melonie Diaz really made it worth while to recommend for me. Hilary Duff gave a good performance and looks amazing in the movie. Maybe the best I've ever seen her. Just really pretty.

My vote is to check it out. If anything you'll walk away with a smile on your face and possibly surprised at some new performances.

Entertaining and funny movie!
lesleyruth97 March 2012
This is just my opinion but after watching a screener of this movie, I found myself thoroughly enjoying it and I even laughed out loud a handful of times. I was skeptical at first about whether I wanted to give this type of movie 85 minutes of my life, now I'm glad I did.

I can see why Charlie Sheen, Hilary Duff, and the other famous actors would do this movie. It's different and more sentimental than most of the movies they are frequently doing.

I'd recommend this movie to most movie goers out there, but mainly for a high school or more youthful audience. They will get a kick out of the witty writing and comedy that Josh Gad provides.

Better than expected, loud out loud funny
bobxman1018 April 2012
I'd definitely recommend. It's a lot of fun! I DO NOT understand IMDb user ratings. This deserves to be much higher! It says that the weighed average is a 7.8 but the score is a lot lower. Very harsh for such a movie that deserves to be seen for a unique yet fun cinematic experience.

I was fortunate enough to of had the opportunity to attend the premiere of SHE WANTS ME. The theater was pretty much full and the entire audience laughed out loud at least 15 or so times. I wasn't counted, but I know it was well over 10 times. Most of the humor comes from Josh Gad's character especially when he is dealing with his girlfriend's ex-husband (played by Johnny Messner). Messner has a lot of credits, but was a relative new face to me. He did a good job, but his character did have the best lines, so I guess most of the credit should be given to the scribe.

Charlie Sheen has about 3.5 scenes in the movie, totaling about 6 to 7 of the 85 minute running time. Hilary Duff was in 6 scenes, totaling about 12 to 15 minutes or so I'd say. And Newman from Seinfeld (Wayne Knight) was in 2 scenes, totaling about 6 minutes I'd say. Debra Jo Rupp (Mom from That 70's show) was in pretty much every scene with Wayne Knight. They were funny and it was even funnier seeing the rapping granny from Wedding Singer and Wedding Crashers was in this movie too!

She Wants Me Premiere
LouZelnick15 April 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I have been following this movie for a while now and was happy to get tickets and see it with a few friends. It's an independent film filled with funny jokes, heartfelt performances and big stars.

I'm a big Duff fan, so I was happy to see more than just a cameo of her. She was in it a lot more than I thought she would be. Same goes for Charlie Sheen, he was in it a lot more than I thought too. Funny, cute moments.

It's not like the most original or mind blowing film but it's good. The acting ranges from what you would expect cheesy typical to more real and natural. Sammy and the rebound girlfriend were my favorite characters in the film and I have never seen them before. Hilary was pretty good and natural in this movie too, much more than I had seen in the past. She was the prettiest too.The others like John and Sam are pretty typical cheese ball humor but overall it had a good balance for this kind of movie.

The improv was pretty hilarious too!!

Kristen Ruhlin is a name to watch
Kristen Ruhlin, the star of this movie opposite Josh Gadd, reminds me of Audrey Hepburn in her looks and talent. I can see her appearing in Vogue and becoming a major figure on the movie scene before too long. I had the pleasure of working with her when she was first starting out and found her a joy to work with; one of the nicest and most considerate people I have ever met. This is another quality she shares with the late Audrey Hepburn: thorough professionalism and an exceptional ability to work well with other people. Like Hepburn, she never wears her ego on her sleeve. In a profession notorious for bad behavior and artificial attitudes, she is a genuine talent who saves all the drama for her on screen performances.

She Wants Me Premiere
ImAMovieNut15 April 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Guy meets Girl. Girl has an Ex who comes into town and makes 3's company. The fat guy is insecure and with the typical pretty girl. Fat guy screws it all up by taking his relationship fore granted. He loses the girl and she comes back.

In a nutshell that's the movie. I saw it and have to say I laughed a few times here and there. The audience laughed out loud a lot. It'd be a good movie for college kids, drinking and hanging out or a quick date movie.

Charlie Sheen was in like 2 scenes. Hilary Duff was actually in it a good number of times. I would say she is the 3rd female most in it for sure. So that was cool. Josh Gad is pretty funny, and i wasn't really a fan of his before this. I love the girl playing his girlfriend, she was by far the most serious. Followed by the Disturbia guy. He's pretty stellar in everything he does. The ex- was really funny for being a meat head sort of guy that he was playing.

Overall it had some good moments with some surprising new faces. This is a good movie to at least check out once. It's worth the stars to check out. They were all way more than cameos and I would say I was shocked how much Duff and others were actually in it,

It's not like KnockedUp but A good Laugh
lauren-534-40968120 November 2012
I am always excited to see a movie about Hollywood or people that live there like KnockedUp and people that live in Hollywood or any of those Katherine Heigel movies, and this was done good for a low budget indie. You can tell in parts but I thought it was good overall. Duff was in it way more than expected and good on top of it, which is an unexpected surprise. Same went for Sheen, I love him and think he's hilarious but he was just sort of sweet in this and actually did a great honest job at being a "star" in the movie world. The 2 leads were really awesome together and i got choked up at the end because it felt like they both really loved each other. I heard it was based on them so not sure if they are a real couple but it def felt that way and i thought it was cute. Really heavy foul language though so don't take anyone younger than 16, I accidentally had my little sister with me and she was too young for it at 12.

Not Bad
leighbgreen15 April 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Funniest Moments: Dick jokes, Funny group of guy friends like the random black guy, Random Nudity, "so fresh"- ew, Charlie Sheen Winning, Newman, Hip Hop Granny, Awkward fight scene at the end.

Best Overall Moments: Opening scene of the girlfriend on a bridge (thought this is how the whole movie would be) and it probably would have been a better movie if it kept this tone. Girlfriend leaving her lying boyfriend in the middle of the movie. Hilary Duff coming out of the red porche. Charlie Sheen and his hat. Josh Gad trying to keep it real throughout the whole movie.

Most Memorable Characters: Kim Powers(Hilary Duff) ,Charlie Sheen, Tyson(random black guy friend), Ex-Husband (Johnny Messner), Fat/Gay friend

Best Acting: Sammy(Kristen Ruhlin), Max(Aaron Yoo), Sam(Josh Gad), Gwen (Melonie Diaz)

Best Plot (there's a lot): Wish we would have seen more of Sam and Sammy before they moved to LA. The Carly(Brit Morgan) role would have been good to see more of, i love True Blood. Sammy leaving him for NY and he should have gone after her, wish he would have been more of a hero going after and fighting for her. Wish we could have seen more of his new girlfriend (Melonie Diaz)/Gwen role. She's an amazing actress and wish that would have been a bigger story line. Also, the parents and family should have been there more or not at all. But I do love the Granny(Wedding Crashers and Wedding Singer lady). My opinion.

Sure I'd tell peeps to see it.
