As it has been for several years now, Adam Green (Hatchet, Frozen) and his friends have once again teamed-up and produced a short film to kick off the month of Halloween. Past films have been able to combine Green’s love of comedy and horror with nothing short of unique results; one of my favorites has to be 2009′s hilarious faux infomercial for the “Jack Chop.” This year’s treat is a short starring Joel David Moore and Kane Hodder entitled “Driving Lessons.” If you haven’t been able to figure out from the title of this article, Green shines a light on a notorious and glaring flaw in what many consider to be a horror classic. The joking is obviously all in good fun and I’ll be damned if you don’t have fun watching this as well. Joel David Moore’s nervous instructor with a bizarre childhood...

The big names keep coming! Rock and Shock, the kick-ass Worcester, Mass., horror/music festival, has just announced that the entire cast of FEARnet's show "Holliston," as well as actor Tyler Mane, have been added to the guest list for this year's festival.
This is a very exciting announcement as the cast of "Holliston" (which includes Adam Green, Joe Lynch, Dee Snider, Dave Brockie, Laura Ortiz and Corri English) and Tyler Mane are now added to a fun group of celebs that already includes unique names like Danny Trejo, Anthony Michael Hall and Peter Criss. Also a bunch of genre favorites will be there like Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, Michael Berryman and Jack Ketchum. More names are being added all the time. And don't forget Gwar, The Misfits, Shadows Fall, DevilDriver, Mongrel and many other bands will be playing.

I heard about Holliston several months before it aired, and being a fan of both Adam Green and Joe Lynch I knew that I was going to enjoy the show.
Featuring actors like Oderus from Gwar, Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, Derek Mears, Seth Green and many more, the show is a labor of love from Green and an exercise in horror inside jokes. It’s often gross, often clever, and usually comfortably snuggled between ‘tasteless’ and ‘hilarious’ - but for me, the surprise star of the show is Laura Ortiz. A petite brunette more like an anime character than an actual person, Laura is best known for her voice work on the animated series Fishhooks as well as in the film Horton Hears a Who. In Holliston, however, her role is a far cry from a family-friendly one; she plays the sassy, often-inappropriate girlfriend of Joe Lynch’s character.

Yes it is indeed that time. The leaves are changing, the weather is getting colder and Adam Green has released his annual horror short. You may have such memories of ones such as last year's "Just Take One","King In The Box","The Tivo" and who could forget the classic "Jack Chop". Well today Mr.Green introduced us to "Downloading And You." He stated through his Facebook"My 13th annual ArieScope Pictures Halloween Short Film is here. Watch "Downl…...

Adam Green and Ariescope Pictures team are back with a new Halloween short film; this one's called "Downloading and You." Green - who has directed the Hatchet films, Frozen and has a segment featured in Chillerama - makes it a point every year to squeeze a Halloween short film into his busy production schedule. You can find previous shorts - like "Jack Chop" and "The TiVo" and "King in the Box" (starring yours truly as "Jack" - right here . Here's what his latest film is about: In the mood to watch a good horror movie this Halloween? Before you do anything the .illegal. way, watch this spoof of 1950′s cautionary public service films and think twice. You know, because there was internet service back in the....

Paul Solet's Grace made more than a few ripples during (and well after) its debut at Sundance 2009 (here's my review at FEARnet), but besides that stupdily hilarious Jack Chop short, we haven't heard anything on the guy's next gig. Well now we have. Courtesy of a press release I got myself and therefore don't have to credit another website, the hardcore Bostonian horror freak will soon be directing a flick called The Faces for FilmNation Entertainment. All we know so far is that first-timer Eric Reese wrote the screenplay and that the basic log-line goes a little like this: "A year after narrowly escaping a brutal kidnapping, a pair of newlyweds find themselves plagued by a horrifying series of events. They soon discover the existence of an elite...

Ok, I am messing with you a bit here, please forgive the sensational headlining, but Paul Solet is no stranger to body-horror and making audiences squirm, so while you are at it, you will also have to forgive my anticipation as a fan of this director. The vampire infant and motherhood anxiety horror Grace was a personal favourite of 2008. Solet will be tackling a high-concept film called The Faces, which deals with a secret society that uses 'terror as a means of entertainment.' It has been a couple of years since Grace, and Solet has been keeping busy with fellow filmmaker, Adam Green (note: the image to the left is from their goofy Halloween short "Jack Chop") and it is with much anticipation...

Paul Solet released a truly unique film in Grace back in 2009. It was a hit at Sundance and even made grown men faint in the audience. I was late to the bandwagon as I bought the film on Blu-Ray previously viewed when a local Blockbuster shut down, but I loved it. It is a great psychological horror film that handles the content maturely and with well executed craft. There was no doubt in my mind that we, as a horror community, would hear from Solet again. I just didn’t know it would be Jack Chop – the hilarious short Halloween short film that Adam Green put out. All kidding aside, Solet has just been signed on to direct a new horror project. Find out the details after the break.
From Variety:
FilmNation Entertainment is looking to “The Faces,” tapping Paul Solet (“Grace”) to direct the horror thriller from Eric Reese’s spec script.

The man who brought us Hatchet and Frozen has a new short film online. More in the spirit of his Jack Chop, but with extraordinarily hot women, director Adam Green's Sexy Nightmare Slayers features Green's wife Rileah Vanderbilt and Clare Grant as the titular heroines. It's good goofy fun, and certain to appeal to your inner twelve-year-old. Check it out after the jump.

Today is the release of one of our personal favorite slasher movie and in honor of the great Hatchet II, we have dug up our original review along with all the DVD and Blu-fay info needed to make an informed purchase. Director Adam Green has warned us if you don't by a copy that he will quote "kill a small kitten" but if you do buy a copy he will save one. (j/k) In all seriousness it is a fun film, not a huge fan of the first? Neither were we but we loved the sequel!....
