In this season of giving, MuttNation underscores its commitment to animal rescue in a consolidated effort to engage with pet lovers at all levels.

MuttNation Foundation was founded in 2009 to improve the lives of shelter pets. Miranda Lambert and her mom Bev Lambert were not looking to start another business – they were hoping to build a network of like-minded dog lovers who were passionate about making a difference in an animal’s life and placing homeless dogs in forever homes.
“All my life I have felt such a strong connection with dogs and never lost that passion for wanting to find homes for them. I couldn’t be more thrilled about all the hard work and accomplishments of MuttNation this year and cannot wait to see the difference we can make throughout this holiday season,” says Miranda Lambert.

When folk rocker Brandi Carlile decided to record a cover of her groundbreaking 2007 album The Story, she set her sights on just one voice to sing the title track: her idol Dolly Parton.
But could the 71-year-old country icon still hit the high notes on this mountain range of a song?
Carlile, 35, wasn’t sure, so in her handwritten request, she suggested Parton could drop the song a key.
It was, Carlile tells People, “about the stupidest thing I think I’ve ever put down in writing.”

Heat was Monday night's theme on The Voice – even the air-conditioning in the studio gave out for a time.
Despite the setback, the show drew a host of sizzling performances from powerhouse country singers who likely raised their stock for fans at home now voting for the Top 12 finalists.
After 30 minutes without the a/c, a sweltering Usher removed his shirt to reveal a black tank top and sculpted arms, which set fans screaming. But it was performances from country's Amber Carrington, 16-year-old Danielle Bradbery of Texas and the always-soulful Judith Hill that kept the room hot as the night's competition wore on.

Tonight’s installment of The Voice had twice as much suspense as usual. Not only was there the looming question of which two contestants’ performances would fail to garner voter support — setting themselves up for a Tuesday night walking-of-the-plank — but there was also the looming threat that a power outage might suddenly pitch the live telecast into darkness.
Yep, as host Carson Daly announced at the top of the show, today’s California heat wave had blown out the air conditioning in The Voice studio, and “if it hits a certain temperature, the lights could go out.” I can’t...

As the top 12 took the stage to prove what they’ve got on May 13, Usher couldn’t handle how hot the performances got — it caused him to start shedding his clothes.
Apparently the air condition wasn’t working on The Voice on Monday night, but it was the top 12 performances that really brought the heat! All of the singers brought their A-game to show their voices – and their dance moves!
Usher’s Team: Not Just Another Song & Dance
For Usher, we didn’t think anything could shine brighter than that diamond necklace — until his team took the stage.
Vedo kicked off the show, by taking on Michael Jackson‘s “Rock With You.” He proved he could both since and dance, while he took on some of Mj’s moves. All the coaches liked the performance, and even Blake Shelton said that it didn’t take away from his singing.

An extreme sports filmmaker who loved snowboarding, skateboarding, surfing and paragliding is dead after a fatal paragliding crash near the Santa Clara River in Ventura County, Calif.
Brent Butzke, of Malibu, Calif., was flying a motorized paraglider on Nov. 20 when someone on the ground saw the craft in distress, reports the Ventura County Star. The witness called 911, but it was too late -- Butzke crashed, and first responders pronounced him dead at the scene. He was 27.
John Greynald, a spokesman for the Santa Barbara-based Soaring Association, told the Ventura County Star that motorized paragliding accidents are actually quite rare, but that it requires a lot more skill to operate than a regular hang glider.
"If enthusiasts get a motorized rig without basic training, they are basically not learning how to fly the wing that motor is attached to," Greynald said to the Ventura County Star. "If you're going to get on a motorcycle,...

As many iTunes lovers and Youtube fanatics understand, music (old and new) has become a huge factor on hit television shows and both the show and artists featured benefit from the collaboration. Ever YouTube a certain scene from your favorite show for hours on end? Did it have a catchy song that you immediately downloaded? Yes, the odds are that you have.
Television show soundtracks are an obsession over here and the music played make that specific scene that much more memorable. Grey's Anatomy and Shonda Rimes have featured fantastic music at Seattle Grace and continue to do so. Matching the right songs for a medical show may seem hard, but it comes off natural and easy for the series. This can definitely be seen in memorable scenes using The Fray's "How To Save A Life" and Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars."

The Lucky One
Directed by: Scott Hicks
Cast: Zac Efron, Taylor Schilling, Blythe Danner
Running Time: 1 hr 41 mins
Rating: PG-13
Release Date: April 20, 2012
Plot: Based on a Nicholas Sparks’ novel, a soldier (Efron) travels to Louisiana, looking for an unknown woman (Schilling) who became his good luck charm during the war.
Who’S It For? Do you want a chance to drool over Efron? That’s it.
Expectations: It’s Sparks plus Efron. Look, Charlie St. Cloud wasn’t awful. Dear John could’ve been worse. Let’s just say I was open-minded with a little bit of worry mixed in.
Scorecard (0-10)
Actors:
Zac Efron as Logan: When you think of Efron, you don’t immediately think of a soldier. His kind of handsome is more pretty than rugged. Don’t worry. The geniuses behind The Lucky One know how to solve that problem. He’s got scruff. He...

Oh boy, Zac Efron's "The Lucky One" is coming, and in case you couldn't tell, this was his "serious" movie. Director Scott Hicks ("Shine," "Snow Falling On Cedars," "No Reservations") is going to make sure you feel it in every frame.
A handful of clips from the film have emerged, totaling over five minutes, and they find Efron playing an Iraq war veteran (snicker), who credits the photo of a woman named Beth, whom never met, for saving his life. Instead of going to therapy like most people would, he tracks her down and a romance begins. Oh yeah, this is based on a Nicholas Sparks novel. So, how can we tell little Zac is damaged? Well, they've got him wearing a scruffy half-beard (giggle) and in order to amp up the drama this thing is bathed drowned in Thomas Kinkade-style Golden Lighting emerging from every cinematic orifice.

“Congratulations, you’re going to Hollywood!” But not quite yet, Idoloonie Nation. First, you’ll have to sit through the Dance of Diminishing Returns, in which a cherbuic 28-year-old guy “entertains” you by shouting “I’m adorable!” and screeching his way through “Somebody to Love”; a cable TV salesguy belches, coughs, and blows his nose for the cameras; and Ryan Seacrest waltzes with a ficus. Heck, as a sharp-eyed TVLine reader noticed, American Idol couldn’t even bother to correctly spell the word “audition” at the start of its Wednesday-night show.

"It's our first trip to Oregon, and with an eclectic crowd like this," Ryan Seacrest said at the opening of Wednesday's American Idol, "there's no telling who or what we may find." Well, Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler found a handful of talented singers with moving backstories, including a Britney Spears lookalike named Britnee. Britnee Kellogg, a divorced, single mom of two young boys, told a touching story of abandoning her dream for her cheating husband. Appropriately, she performed "You're No Good" and had Jennifer singing along. "I'm feeling you right now," the judge said. Randy liked Kellogg's...

Much was said of Portland's natural beauty during this week's "American Idol," but it seemed as though there were more weeds than roses among this crop of contestants. Ryan cheerfully informed us that 45 golden tickets were handed out during the two-day visit, but we only saw five of them (way to pour salt in the wound, Seacrest!), with almost as much of the hour dedicated to the weird antics of the four rejects. By my count, there were also eight ad breaks in the hour -- no wonder I felt my soul shriveling away with every passing contestant.

"American Idol" took to Portland, Oregon for its latest audition episode, so it's totally appropriate that the first audition was a girl whose friends call her "Britster the Hipster." But anyway, Brittany Zika took on "The Story" by Brandi Carlile and it was pretty great.
Her voice is super funky, but that's actually really refreshing on this show. Which probably means we've seen the last of her. J.Lo said of the performance, "You're one of the prettiest voices we've heard, just the tone of it's so pretty."
And then Randy hilariously gave her the back-handiest of compliments, "You know what's crazy, what I love. You come in here and you look nothing like what you sound."
What did you think, "Idol" fans?...

Sara Ramirez led her "Grey's Anatomy" cast mates in Thursday's (March 30) musical episode and now the soundtrack is available on iTunes.
Also, Ramirez just released her 4 song Ep, which includes "The Story," which is also available on iTunes.
The episode revolved around Ramirez's character, Callie, who got into a car accident with her girlfriend, Arizona (Jessica Capshaw). That was the event that sent an extremely injured Callie hallucinating that she and her colleagues who were trying to save her expressed their emotions in song.
A Tony winner for her role in Broadway's "Spamalot," we already knew the girl could sing. But, what about her cast mates? They also showed quite a talent for the musical arts.

This week, ABC's long-running medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" went where few dramas have been before: the musical episode. While many of the cast members got their musical moments in the spotlight, it was Tony winner Sara Ramirez ("Spamalot") who stole the show in a gut-wrenching performance worthy of an Emmy award. In the much-hyped episode titled "Song Beneath the Song," Ramirez's character Callie Torres was involved in a messy car accident that put her in a coma. While she lay in bed for the duration of the episode, she imagined that all of the doctors, as well as herself, were singing and dancing around the hospital. Even though the episode received mixed reviews, Ramirez's performance of Brandi Carlile's "The Story" is being singled out. Ramirez joined the ABC series in 2006 at the height of its popularity. Initially just a recurring guest star, she was promoted to the main cast...

The first scene of tonight's episode showed Callie and Arizona post-car crash. Callie was severely injured, but she managed to mention “music.”
Thus began the first musical episode of Grey’s Anatomy: "Song Beneath The Song." Overall, the concept worked since music really has always played a big part in the show. Some songs were more appropriate and/or better performed than others, though.
Callie first sang “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol from outside her injured body. Her rendition was amazing. Owen and Bailey also sang portions of the song and were impressive as well. In a touching moment, Bailey grabbed Callie’s hand at the operating table.
Lexie sang “Breathe (2 A.M.)” by Anna Nalick after telling Callie to ... just breathe.
The performance was great and overlapped with Lexie comforting Mark and telling him she did not hate him. For a moment, it appeared that she might return to him.

The doctors and nurses on the TV drama “Grey’s Anatomy” do a lot of unusual things at Seattle Grace Hospital–they have sex in back rooms, they fight off crazed gunmen, and, on occasion, they’re even haunted by ghosts. On tonight’s episode, the cast will try something that maybe seems relatively realistic: they’ll break into song.

There's no way around the fact that the "Grey's Anatomy" music event airing on Thursday (March 31) on ABC is going to be a tough one for fans.
"The last episode ended in a very big way with Arizona asking Callie to marry her while they're in a car," creator Shonda Rhimes, who also wrote this episode, tells Et. "And then in the very last moment is a car crash and we pick up after the impact of that crash."
Subsequently, Callie (Sara Ramirez) gets horribly injured in the accident when she flies through the windshield. "There's a lot at stake in this episode," Rhimes says. "Callie, there's a lot of injuries that are sustained."
Also, listen to two full songs from the episode posted by RyanSeacrest.com:

Last week we posted sneak peeks for the upcoming musical episode of Grey's Anatomy, which will be airing on March 31 (view them here). It looks like Callie and Arizona will be getting into a car accident, with Callie taking the brunt of the damage. In fact, the first sneak peek in the previous post shows her suffering significant damage. The musical part comes in with Callie's....spirit, if you will...moving around the hospital as her friends work on saving her.
Now RyanSeacrest.com has full versions of two of the songs from the upcoming episode (which are also embedded below). While the second sneak peek here showed us a preview of cast members singing The Fray's "How to Save a Life", below we have Sara Ramirez singing Brandi Carlile’s “The Story", and Ramirez, Chandra Wilson, and Kevin McKidd singing Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars".

It's been teased for weeks and it finally arrives this Thursday: the Grey's Anatomy musical episode, titled "Song Beneath The Song," clips from which you can watch Here.
What cans fans expect from this installment, which Shonda Rhimes says she's been "wanting to do... since we made the pilot?"
It will follow up on last week's traumatic cliffhanger, as the episode faded to white on Callie was moments away from flying through the windshield of Arizona's car. Arizona has just popped the biggest question of them all, of course.
"I think that the proposal is something that is 100 percent heartfelt, but it's just something that she sees as an answer to not feeling legitimate in this new arrangement," Jessica Capshaw tells TV Guide. "Before you can even figure out why it is that she asks Callie to marry her, they're in this horrible situation."

In case you haven't heard, there's a musical episode - nay, a Grey's Anatomy musical event - coming up March 31. This thing is getting ridiculous amounts of hype.
Not that we're complaining. Especially when Sara Ramirez performs Brandi Carlile's "The Story" live at the Grove in L.A., which she did yesterday. Man, can she sing!
"The Story" is but one of many songs that helped define the series we love, and which the show will pay homage to on the last day of this month. Take it away, Sara:

Sara Ramirez, one of the stars on Grey's Anatomy, once won a Best Actress Tony Award for her performance in the Broadway show Spamalot. So it's no surprise that when Grey's Anatomy decided to do a musical episode they would choose to feature Ramirez as one of the principal singers of the episode.
The musical episode will be airing on March 31 and a "Grey's Anatomy: The Music Event" soundtrack will be released on the same day. The episode will take place in the mind of Callie (Ramirez), who imagines all of her friends and co-workers as part of a musical. Other cast members - including Kevin McKidd, Chandra Wilson and Chyler Leigh - will also be performing.
The song list for the episode will include “Chasing Cars” (Snow Patrol), “How to Save a Life” (The Fray) and “The Story” (Brandi Carlile). Former cast member Kate Walsh, who has since moved...

The Grey's Anatomy musical episode will be airing later this month on March 31. The producers have said that it's not intended to be a spectacle episode, but is supposed to make sense within the overall context of the show.
Grey's Anatomy has a slew of musically inclined actors and actresses among its cast, including Sara Ramirez, Kevin McKidd, Chandra Wilson and Chyler Leigh. The song list will include “Chasing Cars” (Snow Patrol), “How to Save a Life” (The Fray) and “The Story” (Brandi Carlile).
With regards to the synopsis of the episode, the whole thing basically takes place in Callie's imagination. On the verge of some huge life-changing decisions involving Arizona, Callie imagines the hospital and her friends as a musical. Kate Walsh, who plays Addison in the Grey's spin-off Private Practice, will also be returning to Seattle Grace as a guest star for the episode.

The Grey's Anatomy musical event is coming March 31.
It's the episode everyone is talking about (even though there's a new one the week before), and something that's "never been done before," according to Shonda Rhimes.
Basically, it will be an hour-long tribute to the music of Grey's Anatomy, with Sara Ramirez as the lead and the rest of the cast backing her up. It should be ... interesting.
Here's a nice new featurette promoting the episode ...
Grey's Anatomy Musical Episode: Special Preview
With a Tony Award winner in the cast, it's no surprise that she (Ramirez) receives the bulk of the solos on the drama's first musical episode, The Hollywood Reporter notes.
She sings lead on Kate Havnevik's "Grace" and Brandi Carlile's "The Story" and shares lead duties with her on-screen lover, Jessica Capshaw, on KT Tunstall's "Universe & U."
The show will feature nine songs closely associated with the show.

Featuring songs made famous by the ABC medical drama and performed by the cast members themselves (with Tony winner Sara Ramirez leading the charge), the much-anticipated musical episode should be quite the spectacle.

The world has come down with a serious case of Bieber Fever… and with Justin Bieber: Never Say Never out in theaters tomorrow, we figured that this would be the perfect time to talk about some of our favorite Music/Band documentaries. There are so many that a couple have certainly been left out… but that just gives you something to discuss at the end!

It should come as no surprise that, with the exceptions of sex, alcohol, and stabbing Rob Schneider, I spend most of my time thinking about movies and music. Obsessively so, in fact, and one of the things that I'm constantly thinking about is how music is chosen for film soundtracks. I was once fascinated by soundtracks, though I think it's becoming something of a lost art. The days of truly brilliant soundtracks (I'm talking songs, not scores) are fading, but that doesn't stop me from constantly listening to music and thinking about whether or not I'd use that song in a movie, and if I did, what scene would I use it for?
I think we can all agree that the "Hotel California" scene in The Big Lebowski may well be the greatest soundtrack moment in the history of film. This is the model I'd choose to emulate. How to...

It almost seems like Grey’s Anatomy showrunner Shonda Rhimes is apologizing to the Lgbt community for (temporarily) breaking up Callie and Arizona. According to TVGuide.com Rhimes is planning to go where brilliant minds like Joss Whedon have gone before: A musical episode.
Shonday Rhimes
Rhimes says the episode — which she’s wanted to do since Season 1 of the medical drama — will be different than Whedon’s beloved “Once More, With Feeling” in that characters won’t randomly burst into song and instead will take advantage of cast members who are trained singers — like Sara Ramirez (Callie) and Chandra Wilson (Bailey) — as well as those who aren’t.
With Tony winner Ramirez among the cast, Rhimes said the episode is “definitely a Callie-heavy story” and that it’s still a story they would have told “whether there was singing or not.”
