Although Colonel Porter is missing and no contact with the 4th and 5th Mass, Captain Weaver insists to keep the attack and locks up Tom in a cell. Tom questions his sanity since he is using medication to sleep and to wake up and may be putting the survivors in danger. Hal and Jimmy help Tom to escape and he discuss with Weaver how absurd his plan is. Meanwhile, Scott and Ben seek out a means to jam the Skitters' transmission.

"Mutiny" is an episode of "Falling Skies" where the most interesting point is the discovery of Ben and Scott that are able to disturb the means of communication of the Skitters. My vote is seven.

Title (Brazil): "Mutiny"

From The Armory straight to Mutiny. With such a weak premiere there was no way I would ever endure all episodes between. Apparently nothing much happened and it's not surprising when you deal with an episodic formatted show which has sold its sci-fi soul to the greedy family demon. It could sound like the disrespectful comment from an angry hardcore sci-fiholic but if you compare Falling Skies to high quality productions like Kyle XY, both smart and accessible, it has no excuse for carrying so many flaws. This ninth installment was in the same vein as the second but should manage to entertain you a little and even excite you at some rare times. First even if the production is everything but immersive, because of its cheap reality TV-like visuals, the acting is convincing enough to make you dive into the fictional universe from time to time. Second some dialogs are really poor and a scene supposed to be climatic was reminiscent of the worst sequences ever aired on TV or in theaters. Does the over patriotic President speech in ID4 ring a bell ? I just couldn't believe actors like Noah Wyle (Tom Mason) and Will Patton (Captain Dan Weaver) had to play such a mediocre scene. Third this episode redeeming element was definitely Weaver's arc. It brought the edgy tension that only surfaced in the premiere and even if its concept was nothing original at least it should convince you to keep watching until the end. Fourth the bad guy who joined them is too stereotyped. Long hair ? Kids bully ? Seriously do the character developers know we're in 2011 ? Fifth beside the Captain's arc you should also enjoy what's going on with the radio frequencies and the best part is that these two stories are actually related in a twisted way. If I was drunk it would actually remind me of classics like Body Snatchers but in reality it's more comparable to The Faculty, without the babes and adapted for a broader audience. The sixth element deserving to be mentioned are the female characters. The doctor and the blonde. That's it. What about girls to complement the boys ? Realistic female warriors to fight beside the male resistance ? Walking Dead isn't far but it was so strong in some areas that comparing it to Falling Skies would be disrespectful. Last but not least the last minute was unexpected and exactly what Mutiny needed to intrigue the viewers enough and convince them to check out Eight Hours.
