This episode i hoped an expected some better writing, and better overall ideas than last episode. This, considering last episode, should not be much to ask.
You can imagine my pleasant surprise after the Prentiss opening, for I enjoy some mysterious character depth from time to time. And I do long to see where they are taking this!
However, when the main story started, I was willing to kill myself before the first dead body appeared... First off, the smell/perfume thing was completely obvious within seconds. Secondly, someone should seriously take away those freaking iPads which give no addition to their jobs whatsoever. Either use them or loose them, but no government would have been crazy enough to budget in this kind of crap.. Those things would get more use in a Sesame Street episode. Third, no way Morgan and Prentiss would find out the smell thing by sitting in the cab realizing it smelled in there an thus the killer is looking for a smell. Reed may have been able too, but even with him it would be far fetched .. Fourth, this guy is a cabdriver and is financially able to do a "Pimp My Ride, Duegupka Style, DIY Edition" on his cab, and has an entire Evil Layer including an all out mad scientist proof laboratory. How did he finance this? This should have messed up the profile somehow, shouldn't it?
Now i could keep on rambling about these bad aspects of writing and storytelling, yet I have an obvious statement, that needs no further breakdown of the story to proof the rapidly decreasing writing skills, and flat-out absence of creativity in this once fantastic show.
I mean, I could have just watched the movie "Perfume"! Same story, different time, ergo, ripoff!
All in all enjoyable and better than last episode, but still pathetic for a show that knows how to do better. It's like getting the brownie without the pot! I'll eat it, but i expect and demand more, much more!
