5/26/18. Was Geoge Plimpton's life well lived? Who knows? He lived well because he had money. His wealth and the connections it bought allowed him to explore many facets of life that others could only dream. He failed in many of his ventures so he reveled in being a gentleman amateur rather than a gentleman scientist. He muddied through life as only a rich man can. If he didn't have that wealth would anyone open a door for him? If anything, he could probably sing along with Frank Sinatra,"I did it my way."
