Decent episode but Chuck and Sarah ruined it
I always wondered why Sarah even liked Chuck but I get it in this. She's just as bad. He's so needy, whiny, unprofessional, overly emotional, indirect, pushy, big headed and full of himself, always poking his nose into everyone's business and personally I don't think his "charisma" is enough for all his bad traits. He just comes across annoying and unlikable. One dimensional and unemotional. Even when his father died, all the other characters I got more emotion from and If that's the only scene I saw, I'd think they weren't related at all. Hard when Chuck is acting besides Sarah though. She makes him look like an amateur. I just get zero emotion from him. They tried so hard to stereotype him as a nerdy Stanford guy who he gets the girl eventually because he's so charismatic. An underdog but I hardly root for him throughout this whole series. He gives typical business firm personality. Funny how you only see this character in American films and series so much. It got boring after season 1 with him. He's supposed to be the main character yet he's not even in the top 10 for me. There's no character development. Only people who got it was Casey and Morgan. I hate what they did to Sarah's character here. It seemed out of character for her in this episode. I thought she's supposed to smart but she's just as annoying as Chuck in this. They both seem completely self entitled and full of it. Acting like children is just an awful character trait and I find it unwatchable. Sarah whining about Casey leaving. Yet what she did was completely unprofessional and if someone did that to her she'd say the same. She's done it before. "It's orders" - "regulations" her blaming Casey when he owes her nothing. She does the same thing all the time. Chuck is over 30 and couldn't be more of a man child, he's never grew up, even with the intersect he barley beats the "bad guys" after all this time nothing is learnt. I just find his voice very preachy like who goes on a rant during a mission needing to fix everything during that exact moment. Why?. Again that's to do with him being indirect and takes ages to actually get to the point and waits until they're in danger or doing something important.
Also I think this series got worse over the seasons but after season 2 I've been somewhat finding it harder to get through. Season 3 had some good episodes but should've been shorter and season 4 started off promising but honestly I don't care for this storyline. Not enough is happening. I don't care for the filler episodes. However I like how less goofy it's gotten. If you're gonna do goofy, it at least better be funny. I've laughed a few times but it's usually not with the main characters, (Sarah or Chuck). Jeff and Lester is actually more likeable now. I found them creepy in the earlier seasons and it was unrealistic that they worked there, they would've been fired episode 1. This show would've been better if it took more of a serious and realistic approach. I get that he can do karate but not well? So again that makes no sense as to why they added it. I get the flashes of intel but I hated it when they added that. I'd be fine with him have "flashes" of how to escape but being a ninja? No. And he doesn't do it well either, it rarely even works. This show could've been amazing but there's too many things wrong with it.
