“I honestly was concerned that it was over for me,” Billie Eilish confesses at a table with Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, Jon Batiste, Cynthia Erivo and Julia Michaels, who came together to discuss their songwriting prowess and process. “We’d been trying and it wasn’t doing what it usually would do in me. I was honestly like, ‘Damn, maybe I hit my peak and I don’t know how to write anymore?’ ” Struggling for inspiration, the 21-year-old had hit a wall, until Greta Gerwig called in January with an assignment: Write a song for Barbie. The result was the emotional and scene-stealing “What Was I Made For?” that Eilish wrote with her brother and musical partner, Finneas. “Greta saved me, really, honestly,” Eilish says. “It brought us out of it and immediately we were inspired and wrote so much more after that.” A frontrunner for best original song at the 2024 Oscars,...

Ross Lynch delighted fans everywhere with a prominent cameo in Troye Sivan's music video for "One of Your Girls," which features Sivan giving a shirtless Lynch lap dance in full drag. The appearance in the Oct. 13 video reminded fans everywhere of why Lynch has been such a heartthrob for so long, and has also sparked some renewed interest in his personal life.
Fans have been speculating about Lynch's relationship status ever since he rose to fame with Disney Channel's "Austin & Ally." From there, he went on to star in "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" alongside Kiernan Shipka, and at the time, fans wanted to believe there was some magic happening between Lynch and Shipka off screen, though that simply wasn't the case.
It's understandable why some people jumped to that conclusion, however, as the 27-year-old actor and musician did wind up dating a costar from "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina...

David Tennant took on one of his darkest roles to date when he played Dennis Nilsen – the notorious “Muswell Hill Murderer” who killed at least 12 young boys and men in North London from 1978 to 1983 – in ITV’s Des.
Tennant was the latest in a long line of actors to dramatise the lives of some of the world’s most prolific murderers – and it’s easy to see why such a part would be appealing. Playing a serial killer allows an actor to show their range and move away from being typecast. For those who’ve gone before them, such roles have been known to make a career, winning Oscars, Golden Globes and Baftas for those who take them on.

[The following story includes spoilers for Netflix’s The Recruit.]
Noah Centineo became the internet’s boyfriend in 2018 when he starred as the dreamy Peter Kavinsky in Netflix’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. But Centineo’s career goes back much further than that.
The actor has been in the industry since he had a role in his first indie film at 9 years old. He continued in small projects until he landed a one-liner in Disney Channel’s Austin & Ally when he was 15, and that’s when he remembers first getting recognized by fans in a movie theater with his mom.
After a few more roles on Disney and Nickelodeon, Centineo landed the project that changed things for him: The Fosters. When Jake T. Austin left the ABC Family show, Centineo stepped in as Jesus Adams Foster, one of the show’s main characters.
“The Fosters kind of took me to a different level as well with recognition.

Noah Centineo may have captured our hearts in shows like "The Fosters" and "Austin & Ally," but he became a certified heartthrob with "Sierra Burgess Is a Loser" and his breakout film, "To All the Boys I've Loved Before." Up next, he's set to return to the big screen in "Black Adam" alongside Dwayne Johnson - but his love life offscreen has been pretty hush-hush for the most part.
Over the years, he's been loosely linked to a number of stars, including his Netflix costar Lana Condor and even Camila Cabello after he appeared as her love interest in the "Havana" music video. Condor - who is engaged to Anthony De La Torre - explicitly denied dating Centineo in a 2018 interview with Us Weekly.

Noah Centineo may have had fans swooning over him when he first graced our screens in Netflix's To All the Boys I've Loved Before franchise as the charming Peter Kavinsky, but the rom-com king has been beefing up his stacked acting catalog since then. The actor's actual initial big break was through the Disney Channel, though, with small appearances in "Austin & Ally," "Shake It Up," and "Jessie," as well as roles in other TV shows like "Marvin Marvin," "Newsreaders," and "See Dad Run." But ever since he snagged leading roles in Freeform's "The Fosters" and his beloved book-to-movie adaptation series, Centineo has been on a hot streak.
Following the To All the Boys movies, Centineo was tapped for a major role in DC's highly anticipated "Black Adam" film, which stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as the titular antihero. In the superhero movie, Centineo portrays Albert Rothstein, better...

Calum Worthy and Krista Marie Yu have plenty of TV experience between them. Worthy rose to fame by starring in Disney Channel shows like "Austin & Ally" before graduating to more mature subject matter in "American Vandal" and "The Act." Meanwhile, Yu appeared regularly on more recent sitcoms like "Dr. Ken" with Ken Jeong and "Last Man Standing" with Tim Allen. That made starring in Hulu's new meta sitcom comedy "Reboot" a bit surreal and therapeutic.
"Reboot," from "Modern Family" creator Steven Levitan, follows the creation of a revival of the fictional early 2000s sitcom "Step Right Up," a riff on shows like "Full House" and "Step by Step." In the series, Worthy plays Zack, the formerly cute child star of the original sitcom that's being rebooted with the same cast, which includes Keegan-Michael Key, Judy Greer, and Johnny Knoxville as his co-stars. Meg DeLoatch has come onboard the CBS comedy “The Neighborhood” as showrunner and executive producer of Season 4, Variety has learned.
DeLoatch takes over running the multi-cam comedy from series creator Jim Reynolds, whose exit from the series was originally reported earlier this year.
DeLoatch most recently created, executive produced, and served as showrunner on the Netflix multi-cam “Family Reunion.” The second season of that series debuted on the streamer in April, with the first season having dropped in its entirety back in 2019. No decision has yet been made on a third season, per an individual with knowledge of the situation, but should the series get renewed, DeLoatch would remain onboard as an executive producer. Her other TV credits include “Fuller House,” “Raven’s Home,” “Austin & Ally,” and “Single Ladies.” She also created and executive produced the Upn series “Eve.”
She is repped by Gersh and Morris Yorn.

Comedy veteran DeLoatch most recently created and executive produces the Netflix multi-camera sitcom Family Reunion, for which she has received two NAACP Image Awards in 2020 and 2021 and a 2020 WGA Award nomination. DeLoatch assembled one of the first all-Black writers’ rooms to authentically voice the multi-generational family in the Netflix comedy series, whose cast includes Tia Mowry-Hardrict, Anthony Alabi and Emmy winner Loretta Devine. Best known for his roles as Alex in “American Vandal” and Dez in Disney’s “Austin & Ally,” Calum Worthy got everyone’s attention with his latest small-screen performance in Hulu’s true-crime anthology series “The Act.” With the show contending in the limited series races, Worthy could snatch his maiden Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Best Limited Series/TV Movie Supporting Actor for his incredibly disturbing but powerful breakthrough performance.
The first season of “The Act” is based on Michelle Dean‘s BuzzFeed article “Dee Dee Wanted Her Daughter to Be Sick, Gypsy Wanted Her Mom to Be Murdered,” and chronicles the real-life story of mother and daughter Dee Dee (Patricia Arquette) and Gypsy Rose Blanchard (Joey King), as they move to a new neighborhood in Missouri in 2009. If Calum Worthy did his job properly, The Act viewers will think of Nick Godejohn, the man currently serving a life sentence for murdering Dee Dee Blanchard, differently. Worthy certainly does. "[The Act] made me feel a lot of empathy for everybody involved, and it made me feel like this isn't a story where there are protagonists and antagonists, or good guys and bad guys. This is about people, and people are really complex and people make mistakes, and that's what makes life interesting," Worthy told E! News in a phone interview. The film was directed by Joseph Khan (Torque) and it’s described as a “go-for-the-jugular, hilarious look inside the competitive world of rap battles.” Here’s the synopsis that was released:
Berkeley grad student Adam Merkin gets sucked into the game after meeting icon Behn Grym (Jackie Strong; Bet’s “Real Husbands of Hollywood”) and accidentally competing in—and winning—his first battle. Rising through the ranks of the battle scene with his provocative insults, Adam alienates his academic buddies, uptight girlfriend, and literary professor father (Anthony Michael Hall).

Exclusive: Calum Worthy (American Vandal) is set to star opposite Patricia Arquette and Joey King in the first season of The Act, Hulu’s character-based anthology series from writers Nick Antosca and Michelle Dean and Universal Cable Productions.
Written by Dean and Antosca and directed by Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre, The Act is a seasonal anthology series that tells startling, stranger-than-fiction true crime stories. The first season is based on Dean’s 2016 Buzzfeed article “Dee Dee Wanted Her Daughter to Be Sick, Gypsy Wanted Her Mom to Be Murdered.” It follows Gypsy Blanchard (King), a girl trying to escape the toxic relationship she has with her overprotective mother, Dee Dee (Arquette). Her quest for independence opens a Pandora’s box of secrets, one that ultimately leads to murder.
Worthy will play Nick. When Gypsy meets him on a Christian dating website, he seems like the perfect match: A good Catholic boy who wants a big family.

It’s safe to say that Noah Centineo is having a very big summer. The actor made his big screen debut when he was just 13, care of a starring role in the family adventure film “The Gold Retrievers,” a gig he quickly parlayed into a number of appearances on various Disney Channel series, including “Shake It Up” and “Austin & Ally,” all the better to cultivate a tween fandom. In 2015, he joined the cast of Freeform’s long-running “The Fosters,” a move that put the constantly-auditioning actor into new orbits.
But nothing has matched the past few weeks, as Centineo’s role in Netflix’s already-beloved “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” has suddenly turned the actor into a hot commodity.
