Official submission of Serbia to the Oscars 2014 best foreign language film category.
The film is inspired by real event related to the case of Srdjan Aleksic, a Bosnian-Serbian soldier who was killed during the Bosnian war defending his friend Bosnian from the Serbian soldiers who tried to kill him.
The film is inspired by the story of Srdan Radov Aleksic (1966-1993), an award-winning amateur actor who joined the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS) during the Bosnian War. On 21 January, 1993, Aleksic discovered four of his fellow soldiers beating up a Bosniak civilian, Alen Glavovic. Recognizing Glavolic as his neighbor, Aleksic tried to protect him. He was instead attacked and beaten into a coma by the other soldiers. He died on 27 January, without ever recovering from the coma. Aleksic was posthumously awarded for his heroism.
