Who wouldn't want to star in a superhero movie? Being surrounded by A-list actors, working on a property that has a built-in fanbase, working with top directors, having the chance to become a household name, and the possibility of even higher-paying work in the form of sequels — it seems like quite a cushy life. The genre has exploded in recent years, so much so that even superhero films that don't fare so well with critics still have a good chance of making a ton of money at the box office.
However, while it can be easy for those of us who don't work in the film industry to assume that making a big-budget Hollywood movie is all glitz and glamor, we mustn't forget that there is a whole host of problems that can arise when shooting a flick about Wonder Woman or Captain America. Personality clashes, creative differences, script changes,...

As the dust settled on Marvel’s D23 presentation, fans had a number of reveals to chew on — from castings for the Thunderbolts and Captain America: New World Order, to trailers for Secret Invasion and Werewolf by Night. This past weekend at Disney’s D23 Expo, an emotional Harrison Ford showed a room packed with Indiana Jones fans the first official trailer for Indiana Jones 5. Standing onstage alongside producer Kathleen Kennedy, co-star Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and director James Mangold, Ford said, “Indiana Jones movies are about mystery and adventure, but they’re also about heart, and I’m really, really happy that we have a really human story to tell, as well as a movie that will kick your ass.”
Ford also told the crowd, “This is it,” confirming that this will be the last time he’ll don Indiana’s signature hat onscreen. Ford’s exit from the franchise will come after another large piece of the Indiana Jones creative team already metaphorically hung up his own whip; director Steven Spielberg, responsible for helming the first four films in the series, handed the reins over to Mangold...

While Marvel fans got an incredible send-off for Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in James Mangold’s Logan, another Wolverine movie was planned a few years earlier that would’ve taken the character in an edgier direction. Indeed, Darren Aronofsky was all set to reunite with his The Fountain star Hugh Jackman for the second spin-off sequel for the character, The Wolverine. In the end, Aronofsky left the project, with James Mangold taking over. While the finished film wasn’t particularly well-loved by fans, it did pave the way for Logan, with Mangold arguably taking the franchise into an even darker direction than Aronofsky would have. In this episode of Wtf Happened to this Unmade Movie, we look at Aronofsky’s unmade Wolverine movie and try to figure out precisely what it might have been like.

Actor Hugh Jackman has been having fun at the beach while going shirtless and wearing a cowboy hat.
The 53-year-old Wolverine star went for a swim in the sea this week, and he decided to treat his fans to some pictures.
Hugh jumped on Instagram to show his 30.5 million followers three photos from the seaside.
The first pic showed a bare and hairy chested Hugh wearing a cowboy hat, sunglasses, and a massive smile. He also appeared to have a few days worth of stubble on his face.
The second shot showed the Van Helsing actor had lost the hat and the shades and was now soaking wet. He stared directly at the camera with a huge grin.

The latest episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law featured a pretty huge Easter egg for Marvel fanatics.
As spotted by eagle-eyed viewers, episode two (released on Disney+ on Thursday 25 August), discreetly welcomed one of Marvel’s biggest heroes into the shared cinematic universe known as the MCU.
Minor spoilers follow for She-Hulk episode two – you have been warned!
For years, the rights to the X-Men franchise had been owned by Fox, meaning the characters were unable to cross over into the MCU, which is produced by Disney. Ever since Fox was acquired by Disney in 2019, however, fans have been wondering how and when the X-Men would be making an appearance.
This year’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness saw Patrick Stewart reprise his longstanding X-Men role of Charles Xavier, albeit in an alternate dimension.

After holidays and heat waves, it is time to catch up on a summer of Wolverine comics. Just a reminder that I will be doing the Patch mini-series as one piece at its conclusion.
Wolverine #22 Writer: Benjamin Percy | Artist: Adam Kubert | Colourist: Frank Martin | Letters: Cory Petit
So far during this story arc I have had a mixed reception. There have been parts I have really enjoyed and parts I haven’t liked as much. With this issue, I can move from sitting in the middle to being firmly onside with this story arc. Everything seems to move in a more natural, perfect balance and I think that’s why it hit with me. The who, the what and the why all come into focus. Things kick off right from the cover with Wolverine, Deadpool and Maverick in a 90’s comics version of a Mexican stand-off. It is always fun...

We’re just a month away from the release of Rick and Morty season 6, and Adult Swim has released the first trailer for the acclaimed animated series.
The Rick and Morty season 6 trailer is jam-packed with sci-fi weapons (like Summer’s Wolverine claws), call-outs to Die Hard, a befuddled and helpless Jerry, and so much more. There’s also the return of the Roy video game, where players take control of a regular guy and play through their entire life. I can’t wait to see what else the new season has in store. “It’s hard to overstate the impact of Rick and Morty,” said Michael Ouweleen, president of Adult Swim and Cartoon Network. “More than a hit show, it is truly a global phenomenon. As we prepare to launch this soon-to-be iconic season, we will be giving fans a unique way to be part of the fun – so keep your eyes peeled.

In theory, superheroes should be the perfect video game characters. They’re powerful, they’re colorful, and they exist in elaborate worlds filled with objectives and things that are trying to kill them. Despite their potential, though, there are really only a handful of truly great superhero games. That being the case, you’d think that even pretty good superhero games would be put on a pedestal. Instead, the history of that genre is filled with titles that are overlooked, unappreciated, and simply underrated.
There’s no one quality that makes a superhero game underrated. Some are bizarrely forgotten masterpieces, while others are a little rougher around the edges. If there’s one thing that all of these games share, though, it’s the love that went into them. The sheer number of forgettable or passionless superhero games on the market makes it easier to appreciate those titles that may...

The year is 2020, the most futuristic sci-fi sounding of years. With the futuristic motive set up and with this being the first eBuying Comics of 202o I am a firm believer in looking forwards not backwards. Admittedly that does sound a little strange when talking about old comics, but in regards to the blog I think from here things can only get better. I look at the previous years installments as a rough draft. I tried some things that worked and others that didn’t work as well. I want to make eBuying Comics more streamlined and enjoyable, like the good parts of early Wizard magazine. I want to step out more and more from the eBay side of things a cover the wider scope of collecting comics. Lastly I want to make everything more professional. I will elaborate more on these points later, but first I have to contradict...

Happy New Year to you all. The year is 2020 and Wolverine is back among the living. Technically he returned to the Marvel Universe last year after the events of Wolverine Returns before joing Cyclops in the pages of Matthew Rosenbergs’ Uncanny X-Men. Check out Wolverine Wednesday #23 for a full wrap up of my thoughts on Wolverine The Return and Wolverine Wednesday #25 for his appearances in the pages of Uncanny X-Men. In a nutshell I thought the two stories didn’t gel together and The Return was largely a misstep. dispite it being the sole vision of Charles Soule it felt like it could have been a whole lot more. Jonathan Hickmans’ insistence that he persoanlly relaunch the entire X-line led to further contradiction as to how Wolverine came to be back with us. I stayed well clear of both Powers of X and House of X and have continued to...

There are big surprises coming to Marvel's X-Men!
Jonathan Hickman and the rest of the Dawn of X crew have done great work with villains since the post-House of X/Powers of X status quo emerged. Orchis somehow got better in X-Men than they were in House of X/Powers of X, while Morgan Le Fay and the Marauders in Excalibur and X-Force are great tone-setter baddies for first stories. And perhaps the neatest trick Hickman’s pulled so far is turning late stage capitalism into an antihero in X-Men #4. But a promo and the story title for the next issue are combining to make a quick, throwaway moment from the first issue be the most exciting thing to happen to the X-Men since Wolverine gutted Moira MacTaggart an entire lifetime ago: the Children of the Vault are back!

It was dark times for fans when Netflix cancelled their Marvel shows, bringing to a close The Defenders corner of the McU. This being the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe we’re talking about, though, folks have always held out hope that we’d see the likes of Daredevil, Jessica Jones and the Punisher again on our screens. While Grint is perhaps the least busy of the three, Watson has returned to the big screen in a handful of notable roles, and Radcliffe has continued acting thanks to plenty of appearances in indie movies.
Even though he might not ever be able to truly escape his past as The Boy Who Lived, the Marvel fandom at large has continually shown support and interest in seeing Radcliffe as a superhero on the big screen. While you certainly can’t fault his performance, every Wolverine fan wishes that Hugh Jackman had had the chance to don the hero’s classic comic book costume at least once. And now, with the actor retired from the role and saying he won’t ever return (despite Marvel Studios reportedly trying to coax him back), it seems we’ll never get to see it happen. Thankfully, though, some new fan art has surfaced online that shows us how it could’ve looked.
A lot more faithful than any of those boring black jumpsuits Fox put Wolvie in for a number of their films, the outfit you’ll see in the gallery below would’ve definitely pleased fans had it shown up on the big screen. But alas, Fox chose to keep Jackman out of it and to their credit, they had a good reason for why – which we’ll get into shortly.

The problem with spending so many years bringing to life one of the most famous characters in cinema is that audiences may forever associate you with that one part. Take Hugh Jackman for example, who despite his continued insistence that he’s finished playing Wolverine, still gets bombarded with requests online for him to return to wield the claws at least once more.
Likewise, Daniel Radcliffe will probably always be Harry Potter for many people, and while he might not be the most obvious choice to bring the aforementioned mutant to life in the McU when the role is inevitably recast, you could at least argue that putting him in the part would kill two birds with one stone. It’d give us a new version of the character to replace Jackman in the mind of many fans and also give Radcliffe a role that’s probably too big to...

After playing Wolverine in nine films over the course of 17 years, Hugh Jackman established the character as one of the most beloved and iconic that the comic book movie genre has ever seen, with his swansong in Logan bringing fans what’s without a doubt arguably one of the best superhero films of all-time. And despite seemingly hanging up the adamantium claws and retiring from the role, there’ve always been rumors that the Aussie star could be tempted back again, especially with the X-Men now part of the McU.
Then again, that seems like a longshot – though it’s said that Marvel remains hopeful – and whoever suits up as the mutant next will undoubtedly be under intense scrutiny from the fans. It was pretty disappointing when all of the Marvel shows housed on Netflix were abruptly canceled amidst Disney’s takeover of Fox. Especially since the streaming service were the first ones who really managed to get the Punisher right. Indeed, Frank Castle has always been a character that’s had difficulty when it comes to receiving a decent adaptation, having already appeared in the forgettable Dolph Lundgren vehicle in 1989, the Thomas Jane-starring 2004 outing and finally, the ridiculously over-the-top Punisher: War Zone four years later.
However, casting Jon Bernthal as Castle proved to be a masterstroke, with the actor bringing the antihero to life perfectly and winning over millions of fans over the course of his debut on Daredevil and then in his own series. The 43 year-old is without a doubt the best onscreen iteration of the character yet and we already know that he genuinely loves playing Frank Castle.

Among the many new heroes coming to the McU over the next few years is Moon Knight, with a TV show starring Marc Spector headed to Disney Plus. And with production now getting ready to gear up, it seems the casting process has begun, with Marvel currently looking at actors to bring the titular character to life.
So far, a few names have been put forth as potential candidates, but Full Circle Cinema brings word today that none other than Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is being eyed to play the role. Oh, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. What are they like? Frenemies for life, it seems. They’re always back and forth with online teases and jabs at one another’s expense, often with humorous rebuttals from the offended party. Yes, they’re constantly cracking wise with each other and it seems as if Jackman has now gone one further than an accidental “leak” on Mr. Deadpool’s birthday.
In an amusing piece of photoshop trolling, the Wolverine and X-Men actor recently uploaded an image on Instagram of the poster for Reynolds’ upcoming movie Free Guy. Only, it’s not the official poster, as it contains Jackman’s face superimposed where Reynolds’ should be.
The post is complete with a snarky comment by the actor, too, saying there’s been a “small edit to make this a much better promotional tool,” implying the original was not doing its job of hyping up the film.

There are plenty of rivalries in the Marvel universe, but rarely have there been any that have been this violent and this entertaining. When you look at it on paper the fight does seem insanely one-sided since the Hulk has a healing factor, can break worlds apart when he’s truly pissed off, and can pound on Wolverine with none of the inhibitions that he might have against anyone else since the mutant has his own healing factor and an unbreakable skeleton. Yet for all that the two are more evenly matched when it comes to their abilities and their differences

Marvel animated series Tigra & Dazzler is searching for a new showrunner and writers following a shakeup on the series. Sources close to the production confirm to Deadline that Hulu has parted ways with showrunner Erica Rivinoja due to creative differences, but the show is still moving forward at the streamer.
In Marvel’s Tigra & Dazzler Show, “woke superheroes” and best friends Tigra and Dazzler fight for recognition among powered people who make up the 8 million stories in Los Angeles. Chelsea Handler remains as executive producer, along with Jeph Loeb.
Tigra & Dazzler is one of four animated original series at Hulu, along with Howard the Duck, Hit Monkey and M.O.D.O.K.
The Hulu shows are geared toward the more comedic end of the Marvel Universe, and an ironic tone will be watchword for the quartet of off-kilter franchises. Tigra and Dazzler have plenty of history as “serious” heroes...

One of the biggest worries amongst fans when Disney bought 20th Century Fox was that this would be the end of their R-rated superhero movies. The Deadpool films were box office smashes and beloved by audiences and Logan won widespread critical acclaim for its mature character focus. But there’s been some light on the horizon as of late. Deadpool co-writer Paul Wernick says Disney has promised that the Merc with the Mouth will stay R-rated and now it seems as if they may be happy to let Wolverine stay R-rated, too, at least in his solo movies.
According to our sources – the same ones who told us Ewan McGregor was returning as Obi-Wan in a Disney Plus show, and that a Green Lantern TV series was coming to HBO Max – Marvel is now considering an R-rated Wolverine movie for Phase 6 that would follow the Weapon X arc. This 1991 story...

At the moment, there are tons of questions surrounding how Marvel will bring the X-Men into the McU. One of the biggest though is what will they do with Wolverine? After all, he’s without a doubt the most iconic member of the team and is surely a priority for Kevin Feige and co., but it’ll certainly be difficult to relaunch Logan with another actor when Hugh Jackman’s performance is still so iconic. That’s why it makes sense that we’re hearing that Marvel’s now hoping they can lure the Aussie back.
We’ve already told you that the studio would like Jackman back in the role if he’s willing to return and while they’re also considering offering him the part of Doctor Doom if he doesn’t want to reprise Wolvie, we’re now hearing of another rather interesting idea. Though this is...

Now that Hugh Jackman’s time as Wolverine has come to an end, the Internet has been pitching their ideas for who they think should take over the iconic role once the character enters the McU. Big-time actors like Keanu Reeves, Jason Momoa, Charlie Hunnam, Daniel Radcliffe, Dacre Montgomery, Tom Hardy, Kit Harington, Taron Egerton and more have all been thrown around, but lately, there’s an unexpected name that’s been making the rounds on the web: Danny DeVito.
A recent online petition is imploring the studio to make the beloved performer the next Marvel icon. As of right now, the entreaty has garnered over 49,000 signatures. This is roughly a thousand short of the creator’s goal and while obviously nothing will happen once it reaches that total, it’ll still be an impressive feat nonetheless.
The man behind this petition claims that DeVito makes sense for various reasons.

Of all the original six Avengers from the 2012 film, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk is the only one that doesn’t have a clear path ahead. Iron Man is dead. Captain America is retired. Thor has a fourth film on the horizon. Black Widow is finally getting her solo film. And Hawkeye has a TV show. But Hulk? He has nothing. Well, if Ruffalo has anything to do about it, that could change.
We’ve already heard in the past that the actor was keen on continuing his role as Hulk in future McU projects, but speaking at the recent Tokyo Comic-Con, Ruffalo was a bit more detailed with an idea he has for his superhero.

Leading up to the grand release of Thor: Ragnarok, Bruce Banner himself, Mark Ruffalo, waxed lyrical about the three-movie arc lined up for Marvel’s Jade Giant.
It’s only now, in a post-Avengers: Endgame world, that we can appreciate the three-film narrative in all its glory, which involved Hulk Vs. Thanos, Hulk Vs. Banner and, finally, a strange fusion between the latter two entities to create Professor Hulk, the perfect amalgamation of brains and brawn.
But now that Endgame has come and gone, what comes next for Mark Ruffalo’s gentle giant? Word is Ruffalo has already touched base about a possible role in the soon-to-be-released She-Hulk spinoff, but while attending Tokyo Comic-Con (h/t ComicBook.com), the actor was asked straight-up about the possibility of a Hulk Vs. Oh, Hugh Jackman. Will he ever stop trolling Ryan Reynolds? The answer is a stern no. He’ll even rib on Mr. Deadpool while simultaneously congratulating someone else.
It appears that ol’ Wolverine himself has taken to Twitter this week to show support for John Legend (La La Land and The Voice), who’s been nominated as People’s Sexiest Man Alive of 2019. In offering his online pat on the back – welcoming John to an elite group whilst telling him to “enjoy your reign” – he also uploaded a video in which he mocks Ryan Reynolds. Of course, their mockery of each other goes back a long time, but we still love it when they troll each other on social media.

Writer-director James Mangold plays the Hollywood studio game well enough to build allies who believe in him. While at Fox, studio chief Emma Watts backed X-Men installments “Wolverine” and “Logan” and Oscar-winner “Walk the Line.” That made greenlighting $100-million sports saga “Ford v Ferrari” less of a risk, but it’s the kind of movie that studios don’t care to bank these days. The true story behind the legendary 1966 Le Mans race floundered in development for decades before Mangold started chasing it in 2011. (Fox handed him “Wolverine” instead.) When Michael Mann and Joseph Kosinski’s versions fell apart, Mangold was ready to pounce.

From their humble Silver Age beginnings, to comic culture behemoth, to Marvel’s first successful movie franchise. The X-Men have certainly had a roller coaster ride in their fifty six years existence. Starting out with a roster of five led by Charles Xavier the ranks of the X-Men increased year on year. Most notbaly under the pen of Chris Claremont along side artists Dave Cockrum, John Byrne, Paul Smith, Marc Silvestri and Jim Lee the ranks swelled to hundreds. In this era the X-Men became their own universe within the main Marvel universe. With the levels of popularity increasing along with the success that came with it, spin offs, multi part stories and cross overs became the norm. The X-Men were not just the center of the Marvel Universe they were the center of the comics universe. It seems only a few years ago we couldn’t escape the rumours...

If you take the video as it is then it’s kind of goofy really since one has to ask themselves how the creators came up with the idea to cast Deadpool, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Captain America, and Batman to don the garb of the Ghostbusters and take the direction of a faux Bill Murray figure when it came to finding ghosts. The music itself is great, it brings a new level to the Ghostbuster’s theme that’s impressive and a lot of fun, but it’s kind of easy to see that the budget for this was kept pretty low. The “dark and gritty superhero movie” has been one of blockbuster cinema’s most beloved tropes for over a decade, but while some of the more adult-skewing comic book adaptations have flamed out — like critically savaged DC offerings “Suicide Squad” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” — a handful have succeeded. One such standout: filmmaker James Mangold’s pair of X-Men movies focused on Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, including the PG-13 “The Wolverine” and its haunting R-rated follow-up “Logan.”

With the X-Men characters finally coming home to Marvel Studios thanks to Disney buying Fox, an artist named Marcus Williams was inspired to create some fan art. That fan art brings together several Disney Princesses and teams them up with X-Men characters. The result of this actually turned out really cool!
Some of the team-ups you’ll see include Cyclops, Banshee, and Merida; Tiana, Gambit, and Rogue; Ariel, Jubilee, and Vanellope; Belle, Shuri, and Beast; Iceman and Elsa; Psylocke and Mulan; Rapunzel and Wolverine; and Storm and Pocahontas.

Ever since Disney officially purchased Fox earlier this year and gained access to its huge library of IPs, fans have been wondering when the wayward Marvel franchises would be absorbed or rebooted in the McU.
