The movie was made possible on a tight budget because many of the cast and crew, a lot of whom where friends or family of the creators, worked for a reduced wage, some even working without pay.
The Dutch band The New Cool Collective makes an appearance in the movie as the fictional band 'De Euromasters', a reference to the Euromast in Rotterdam.
Aat Ceelen, the author of the Dutch book 'Door de liefde toegetakeld' on which the movie is based, makes an appearance as a man who appears to be digging a grave. When asked some trivial questions by the movie's main character, Arie, he looks at him with a quizzical look and remains utterly silent.
