Actress and singer Dulce María from Rebelde (2004) had a cameo as herself in this version. For some episodes, she appears on screen alongside her Brazilian counterpart Roberta portrayed by Lua Blanco.
The declining ratings in the second season and the positive ratings obtained by Carrossel (2012) (from the rival channel SBT) and Brazil Avenue (2012) (from another rival channel Rede Globo) spawned alterations in the story, adding a children's subplot with younger characters. Writer Margareth Boury disagreed and was replaced by Emílio Boechat.
Coincidentally, writer Margareth Boury's father Reynaldo Boury directs Chiquititas (2013), also originally created by Cris Morena.
Carla Diaz and Greta Antoine had roles in Chiquititas Brasil (1997), also created and produced by Cris Morena. While several cast members from Chiquititas (1995) later became part of the original version "Rebelde Way", Diaz and Antoine are the only Brazilian former "chiquititas" to do so.
Actors Lisandra Cortez and Paulo Leal would later have roles in Chiquititas (2013), another production originally created by Cris Morena.
