The Fall topped Monday evening's ratings outside of soaps for BBC Two, according to overnight data.
Gillian Anderson's crime drama came to an end by gaining 350,000 viewers from last week to 3.59 million viewers (15.9%) at 9pm.
Earlier, Springwatch continued with 2.51m (11.3%) at 8pm, while What a Load of Buzzcocks brought in 981k (5.3%) at 10pm.
On BBC One, Panorama was seen by 2.11m (9.1%) at 8.30pm, followed by the second D-Day: The Last Heroes with 2.64m (11.6%) at 9pm. Helicopter Rescue secured 2.14m (17.6%) at 10.45pm.
ITV's The Dales with Adrian Edmondson attracted 3.13m (14.6%) at 8pm. Sir Ian McKellen's final episode of Vicious climbed to 2.77m (12.2%) at 9pm (106k/0.6% on +1), while The Job Lot ended with 1.91m (8.4%) at 9.30pm.
On Channel 4, new drama Dates brought in 1.54m (8.3%) at 9pm, with a further 204k (2.0%) on +1. Big Fat Gypsy Weddings entertained 2.79m (12.3%) at 8pm (325k/1.9%).
Channel 5's The Gadget Show rose from last week's opener to 791k (3.5%) at 8pm.

Gillian Anderson's new crime drama launched with 3.53 million viewers (15.4%) at 9pm, beaten only by soaps and news programming. Earlier, Auction Hero opened to 1.50m (6.6%) at 8pm.
On BBC One, Rip Off Britain was seen by 3.39m (16.2%) at 7.30pm, while Panorama's unemployment special attracted 1.83m (7.8%) at 8.30pm. The Prisoners ended with 2.74m (11.9%) at 9pm.
Adrian Edmondson's The Dales launched with a decent 3.19m (14.2%) at 8pm, with a further 132,000 (0.6%) on +1.
Sir Ian McKellen comedy Vicious dropped nearly another million viewers for its third episode, grabbing 2.66m (11.5%) at 9pm (241k/1.3% on +1). The Job Lot fell to 2.17m (9.5%) at 9.30pm (190k/1.3%).

Embarrassing Bodies made a solid start in its new Monday night slot, according to early overnight data. Fronted as usual by Dawn Harper, the Channel 4 medical show returned for its seventh series with 2.95m (12%) in the 9pm hour, adding 509k an hour later on +1. The 3.5 million overall figure compares favourably with the premiere audience for 2011, and was more successful than Superscrimpers: Waste Not Want Not, which had 1.37m (5.4%) at 8pm (+1: 273k/1.1%). Meanwhile, the third run of Whitechapel concluded with 5.89m (24.1%) on ITV1 (+1: 266k/1.6%), up 300k on last week's penultimate instalment. Ade Edmondson has criticised British soaps branding them "unpleasant" and "aggressive". After travelling around the UK meeting people for TV show 'The Dales' - which returns to ITV1 for a second series this month - the 55-year-old comic has now realised the importance of "feel-good telly" and he doesn't like soap operas because they are so negative.
