- Although she is now out of the psychiatric ward, Linden will not give up on the investigation. She asks Gwen to use her father's influence in Washington to get a federal warrant to search the casino. Gwen has a tense confrontation with her father but gets it in the end. The FBI raid the casino and apparently find nothing. Linden has in fact recovered the city hall key card she saw. It doesn't lead them to the Mayor's office as expected but to another office in the building. Stan meanwhile is ordered by mobster Janek Kovarski to eliminate Joseph Nowak. Stan refuses but Janek knows how to get what he wants. He's in for a bit of a surprise however. When Stan gets home, there is a surprise awaiting him. On the election trail, Richmond is facing the public disclosure of his attempted suicide.—garykmcd
- Linden and Holder are together just after she's left the hospital. They share coffee and donuts and all she can talk about is how they can get back into the casino. The consensus is their only chance is a federal warrant.
With only a day left before the election Richmond has pulled to without two points of Mayor Adams.
Adams is furious that Richmond has made it so close. He's told who has been leaking info to Jamie from the DA's office.
Linden and Holder wait for Jamie and Gwen. They mention needing the warrant and Linden mentions that Gwen's father could probably help. The detectives stress how important this could be for them, as well as Rosie's case.
Somebody calls with word that Stan has gotten an offer on his house. Terry initially answers the phone. When he sends her down to check on the fax machine, she spots a crime scene photo of Rosie in one of the drawers.
Gwen basically blackmails her father into helping with the federal warrants by threatening to expose that he knew an exagerated version of what Adams did to her when she was a teenager.
Linden calls Jack, who had been trying to get in touch with her for days. She doesn't mention the hospital stay. Holder tells her the warrant has come through.
Linden, Holder and a team of FBI agents arrive at the casino with warrant in hand.
Adams stops by Richmond's office and tells him he's found out about the suicide attempt. He gives Richmond until 9:00pm to withdraw from the race or he will go public and essentially ruin his political career.
Janek stops by Stan's place and asks him to kill somebody for him. When Stan declines, Janek makes comments about harming Stan's sons. Alexi overhears this.
The teams tear up the flooring on the casino 10th floor construction site.
Richmond tells Jamie and Gwen about Adams and says he's going to drop out of the race. Jamie wonders if he could say he was depressed but is now under a doctor's care. Gwen agrees that the only way Richmond has a political future is if he drops out. After Jamie leaves Richmond explains to Gwen how he felt that night. She tells him he has nothing to be ashamed of.
Stan tells Terry about his initial idea for the house. She tells him about her dreams of a family. She and Michael were going to get a place and start a family. Before Stan leaves he tells Terry that if anything happens to him he wants her to take care of the boys.
Linden digs around the spot where she found the key card, but turns around and shakes her head "no" to Holder. Once in the car Linden shows him that she did, in fact, find the key card. She didn't turn it over because she doesn't trust the powers that be would handle the evidence properly. But she does still want them to use it.
Drays shows Jackson surveillance footage of Linden showing the key card to the camera in the elevator on their way down from the 10th floor and very deliberately flipping the bird into the camera. Jackson is furious that she missed it and kicks her out of the room. She then picks up the phone and tells someone "They've got your key card."
Adams tells Carlson he wants Linden arrested. He hints at Carlson getting a big promotion if he plays ball.
Stan is waiting for his victim.
Linden thinks they are being followed. She has Holder turn on the scanner and they get confirmation that a police unit has been assigned to them. With some fancy and risky driving, they lose their tail.
Carlson is told about this, and leaves for the location where Linden's cell phone was last tracked.
Just before Stan can shoot his victim, he notices a baby in the back seat. This causes him to pause long enough that the guy sees him. Stan still gets the jump on the guy, but instead of shooting him tells him to leave town and never come back.
Janek gets in his car. Somebody in the back seat points a gun to his head. Janek thinks it's Stan, but it turns out to be Alexi who says "This is for my father," and shoots him.
Richmond begins making his speech to a large crowd of volunteers.
Carlson meets Linden and Holder and tells them "it's over." They show him the key card and ask him whether he's on the right side, particularly since Adams might not even win. Carlson says that even if they are right, he can't call it off. Linden tells him "then get out of my way".
To the surprise of Gwen and Jamie, Richmond talks to the audience about his suicide attempt, telling them that by the time he hit the water "I wanted to live." He talks about how easy it can be to want to give up. He tells the crowd that "I will keep showing up for you. And I will never stop fighting." He wheels himself off stage to a smattering of applause.
Linden and Holder attempt to gain entry into the Mayor's office with a key card it doesn't work. She walks away and we see her use it on another entry. It works. She and Holder exchange a glance.
Linden and Holder walk into Richmond's now-empty campaign headquarters. That was the key card from the casino.
The episode ends with Jamie and Gwen watching Richmond wheel himself through a sea of volunteers.
