Tribeca Films has announced that they have acquired the distribution rights for Chris Colfer's Struck By Lightning, and plan a late 2012 release for the film, with day-and-date for Video On Demand. That generally means that they don't plan a wide national opening but only select cities, but it does mean we can all see it.

For over 20 years, Dan Savage has been dishing out sex and relationship advice to anyone that cares to listen. So when MTV asked him to hit the road and take his hard-hitting advice to college campuses across the U.S., it seemed like a natural fit for the outspoken columnist.
From learning how to build a committed relationship to safely navigating online dating and one night stands, to kinks and fetishes, no topic was off-limits for Savage during the filming of "Savage U." However, that doesn't mean he wasn't shocked by some of the questions he received. University of California, Irvine was especially memorable for the It Gets Better co-creator.
"The questions there blew my mind -- not because they were so crazy or dirty, but because they were so innocent," Savage told HuffPost TV via phone. "It was like getting questions for Archie and Jughead."

Does love at first sight really exist on a college campus? According to sex columnist Dan Savage, the answer to that question is a resounding no.
In this week's all new episode of "Savage U" (Wed., 12 a.m. Et on MTV), Savage heads to Cornell University where he meets one college student who dreams of a perfect fairytale relationship ... that won't scare guys away.
"I dream of just going for the tong in the salad line and having another person reach for the tong and then we look at each other and it's love...," she rambles, before Savage sharply cut her off.
"That happens in movies," he says, shaking his head. "That's never going to happen. You got to stop watching romantic comedies. That cliche about male fear of intimacy crap is true... Guys get spooked."
Apparently, it's not just straight men either. "Gay men are like men," says Savage.

In MTV's new show "Savage U" (Tuesdays at 11 p.m. Et on MTV), sex columnist Dan Savage has been visiting college campuses across the U.S., speaking to students about sex and answering their questions -- but sometimes, not even Savage has all of the answers.
If you've ever thought that things were going really well in your relationship, only to have your significant other blindside you with a breakup, then you'll feel for this Ohio State student. All he wants to know is, why? Was it because he didn't want to rush their relationship and have sex?
Unfortunately, for him, Savage doesn't have an answer, but he does dish out some smart advice for the heartbroken college student in the exclusive clip above.

As long as there are young people, there will be young people having unprotected sex. No matter what videos they've seen, stories they've told, or even in some cases diseases they have contracted, they just will not take safe sex seriously. Dan Savage faced that problem head on in the series premiere of "Savage U" (Tue., 11 p.m. Et on MTV).
For the series premiere, Savage headed to the University of Maryland. His idea was to take his straight talk approach to sex to college campuses across the country and have frank and open discussions with college kids about their own sexuality, answering questions and encouraging these students to be open and honest with their concerns and questions.
One of the more memorable scenes saw him find out that a male student sitting next to him was having unprotected sex with his girlfriend. So Savage called up the girlfriend and chided her,...

Miss me kids? I missed you, though you're always in great hands with Louis, who was kind to fill in for me on top of his other duties. I try not to do it to him often. Of course, I'm doing it again in a couple weeks. Remember when I went last year and spoke to OUTLaw at Washington & Lee Law School last year? They're having a debate between Maggie Gallagher and Andrew Sullivan April 4th at 6Pm and invited me back. Plus it gets me some rare face time with our fearless leader, Dennis.
But on to things that matter, like the fact that Smash has been renewed for a second season. It's uneven, but I really am hopeful for the show. One major change is that creator/showrunner Theresa Rebeck won't be back, but will live on in Debra Messing's character, who was loosely based on her.

The big news is that John Barrowman is set to star in ABC's Gilded Lilys pilot (which will drive spell check crazy if it gets picked up). It's an upstairs-downstairs style drama about the wealthy Lily family opening New York's first luxury hotel in 1895. Barrowman will play Julius Ashford Lily, the eldest, favored son, charming lucky and loose. Barrowman in a period piece? Opposite Blythe Danner? Sign me up!

MTV is premiering its new docu-series "Savage U" on Tuesday, April 3 at 11 p.m. Est.
The series will follow columnist, author, and co-creator of the “It Gets Better Project” Dan Savage as he travels to college campuses across the country, talking to students and offering them a crash course on relationships, responsibility, sex and love.
As seen in the above trailer, Savage isn't afraid to tackle the “taboo” topics that students are too afraid to talk about. From learning how to avoid the “friend zone” or build a committed relationship, to safely navigating online dating and one night stands, to kinks and fetishes, no topic is off-limits and every question is driven by the students themselves.
Each half-hour episode, set at a different college, will feature an open Q&A session in which Savage and his producer Lauren Hutchinson address anonymous questions, as well as one-on-one sessions with Savage for...
