You would expect an episode where everything is miniature and everyone's voices are chipmunk'ed to be an utter failure. Yet somehow this episode works. It's only 5 minutes, so it never feels boring. Like the yogurt episode, just turn off your brain and you'll enjoy it. And the opera music was the cherry on top. Fun episode, 7/10.

Quirky, clever, and a terrific change of pace
disturbednakedchild-6585620 May 2022
Another standout episode in a triumphant return for season 3 of LDaR.
A hilarious change of pace from the jaw dropping animation, non stop violence, and cosmic horror that usually keeps viewers of the series engaged. This tilt+shift stop-motion rendition of a familiar apocalyptic trope will keep you on the edge of your seat trying to catch all the quirky mayhem.

Loved it.

I loved this episode too. It made me reminisce of the very early GTA game versions (or world building games) that were done from a bird eye view. The cemetery scene had me thinking, did they actually do that? I had to rewind it to make sure it wasn't my imagination hahaha. Then I realize, well duh this is Netflix, not Disney. ROFL. I really enjoyed it and I love the miniature effect using shift-tilt lens effect. Fellow photographers will know what I mean by that.
🤣🤣🤣

The best thing I have seen in my life. I saw the destruction of earth in 5 minutes. And at the end it saw that we are nothing but a grain of sand and less in the universe. Amazing. I was laughing in the whole episode. 😂
Masterpiece

I haven't watched something so witty, incredibly funny, smart and masterfully done in a very, very long time, what a creation! I love the criticism to humanity and overall the end, reminding us how insignificant we are... More people should share your philosophy lol
Well done and thanks for your sharing your talent with us.
I hoped for more

I am a fan of Love, Death and Robots and was thrilled when I heard a new season was coming out. It's not that these come out all the time. I also know that there must be a number of creative ideas offered for a limited set of episodes. 6 minutes to capture a zombie led apocalypse felt flimsy. That was not very creative, intriguing and felt like a rushed cartoon. Shame an episode was wasted on this idea.
Beautiful

Goofy and fun. Clearly made by fans of the genre.

I like zombies. Maybe I'm stuck in the '00s, that's okay. This short is obviously made by fellow zombie fans. Pretty sure we see a nearly perfect recreation of the 2004 Dawn of the Dead scene where the nurse flees her home.
The animation is actually pretty unique. I assume this is 100% rendered, but the work done with depth of field was incredibly convincing, and made most of the scenes look like physical miniatures. Well done to all involved, I enjoyed this one a lot. I think the bit with the penguins was my favorite.

Zombie apocalypse in a nutshell from a bird eye view

The take home message of this episode:
Don't desecrate holy ground will nudity, sex and destruction of church property or you will cause the return of the living dead.
The zombie apocalypse is shown from a bird eye view with the time-lapse technique, everything is in fast forward mode.
In less than 7 minutes this episode demonstrates the downfall of mankind, beginning in the U. S. and spreading world wide, p.e. Vatican City.
It's over the top satirical, hilarious, gory and entertaining.
REcommended.

A lot of people seem to like this one but I have no idea why. It's just a standard zombie movie done in high speed so you see the predictable plot elements happening very very quickly. It's basically a zombie movie in which there is none of the scary stuff or the plot stuff or the character development stuff and it's not really funny beyond just that people talk in squeaky little voices. I guess people just like to see stuff speeded up? Cute punchline though.
That's really all there is to say about it but I am DB is insisting that I make my review longer. Which is super annoying. Sometimes there's just not a lot to say about something but you should still have the right to be able to say it.

This is a simulated tilt-shift masterpiece. What a feat to produce the technology to so closely mimic a real world technique but with such a comedic focus...
Simulated tilt-shift can't be easy and I applaud everyone involved in such a slick reproduction of such a fantastic aesthetic.

I was laughing the whole episode... And whole 5 mins of an episode I mean
Those chipmunks voices and the thing that starts the outbreak is hilarious, and how its escalates -- we've seen it, memorized it from 1000 Different POP CULTURE media. But all it culmunates to destruction of our World...
then Fart! That's how it sounds in the Universe.

I had a blast with this short. From the moment it started I was hooked on the tilt shift art style. The story was your typical zombie apocalypse story but it had so many references to other zombie movies to where I felt like Leonard Dicapro meme pointing at the TV! I hope we see more from this team in later seasons because they didn't any excellent job with how fun they made this short & of course the art style.
It's tiny for a reason!

I feel like a lot of the people writing bad reviews are missing the point. It's tiny because we are literally just a "fart" in the universe. But we think we are such big game with all our fancy stuff, like guns and nukes. It's basically a satire about us humans thinking we are SO important, but we really aren't.. That's my take on it at least!
Also very well animated and funny!

Short, Shallow plot, no dialogue

In my opinion, this was quite easily the worst LDR episodes. I'm not sure how it is rated as highly as it is. I'll give credit to the creators of this beautiful miniature world, but there was nothing original feeling about the whole idea. Its just a world in the scenario of a zombie apocalypse. Its the 2nd shortest episode and I felt extremely underwhelmed throughout the entirety of the episode.
Funtastic Night of the Mini Dead
Tweetienator4 June 2022
This is my first (and maybe last) review ever for one episode of a TV show, and I will make it short and sweet: Night of the Mini Dead is the best contribution to the walking dead business in years: it's sweet, it's fun, it's glorious.
Amazing

Goofy Fun Romp
smasica-334264 June 2022
This little gem was ingenious and hilarious. A mini-zombie apocalypse that captured every zombie movie cliche and scene in a high-speed, zany romp. There were only a few words you could make out in the hyper chipmunk, munchkin voices, but what was said made me laugh out loud.
Watch it, you'll love it.
