After actors reach a certain level of fame in the film industry, it becomes difficult for them to take on supporting roles in projects thanks to their roaring popularity. However, Samuel L. Jackson is built different! Despite practically becoming a household name after films like Pulp Fiction and Jurassic Park, he didn’t think he was too good to play a supporting character or even show up for an uncredited role.

Actor John Boyega, who played Resistance fighter Finn in the most recent Star Wars trilogy, has expressed zero interest in returning to the beloved franchise.
In a recent interview on SiriusXM, Boyega said: “At this point I’m cool off it. I’m good off it…I think Finn is at a good confirmation point where you can just enjoy him in other things, the games, the animation. But I feel like ‘[Episode] VII’ to ‘[Episode] IX’ was good for me.”
He followed up by stating his major focus now with his career is “versatility.” John Boyega’s Finn was one of the few major Black characters in the Star Wars franchise, following in the path of Billy Dee Williams’ Lando Calrissian and Samuel L. Jackson’s Mace motherf*ckin’ Windu. Even though Darth Vader was voiced by James Earl Jones, he was unmasked as a “crusty old white man”, forever pissing off the great Hooper X.

James Franco has landed the role of Fidel Castro in “Alina of Cuba,” an independent film about the Cuban revolutionary’s daughter, Alina Fernandez.
The project is the latest of multiple live-action films the actor has recently signed on to, ending the hiatus he took following accusations of sexual misconduct 2018 and 2019. Last month, he booked a leading role in post-World War II drama “Me, You” with Tom Hollander and Daisy Jacob.
Starring Ana Villafañe as Fernandez, “Alina of Cuba” recounts the true story of her exile from Cuba and eventual turn to social advocacy. As previously announced, Mía Maestro will play Natalia “Naty” Revuelta, the Cuban socialite whose affair with Castro resulted in the birth of their daughter.

From a cramped hotel suite in a luxury Cannes hotel, a pair of film executives are trying to pull off an unlikely feat: Sell distribution rights to Kevin Spacey’s comeback film. On May 17, Vantage Media International, or Vmi, a Hollywood-based company that sells movies primarily to foreign markets, screened a finished print of the noir drama Peter Five Eight to would-be buyers willing to take a gamble on the two-time Oscar winner’s first leading role since his career came to a grinding halt in 2017 amid accusations of sexual misconduct.

Blur‘s second LP is their secret classic. Coming between the pop-psych shimmer of 1991’s Leisure and the cool Britannia of 1994’s Parklife, the brittle jangle and bitter observations on Modern Life Is Rubbish were near-career-killers. But this two-cd reissue (part of a grand dress-up of Blur’s catalog, including a 21-disc box) arms the LP’s real bravado. “Advert” and “Pressure on Julian” anticipate the full-throttle indie-rock swerve on the ’97 hit Blur, with more Kinks and David Bowie in the clamor. Of note among the many B sides: the...
