I love Disney Park episodes of sitcoms
rrmckenna23 September 2022
Home Economics was bound to have its characters at Disneyland or Walt Disney World at some point, being an ABC show. And just as I've enjoyed other sitcoms that have their episodes take place in my favorite theme parks (Full House, Roseanne, black-ish, The Middle, Modern Family...probably others, too), I had fun watching this one, too. It also helped move the ongoing story along, which is a good thing. No spoilers here, but the exchange between brothers Tom and Connor when they pose with an Avenger for a photo and then see another familiar superhero nearby is funny if you know of actor Topher Grace's previous role in an older film franchise. I'm glad this show got a third season and love that they started off with a good adventure at Disneyland.

A very long Disney commercial

It was like watching a 20 min tik tok if someone at Disneyland with family disputes

I like this show but the Disney promo feel was too forced. Maybe because it tv shows don't do this anymore (trips to Disneyland) since the 80s. Maybe there is a reason for that...

Especially since nothing was revealing. It's like the show got to reveal galaxy edge after everyone has seen it already. A bit anti climactic

So little was actually about the show. I'd rather have watched more of the show but filmed at their normal locations.

A Nothingburger of a Disney Ad

I love Home Economics. It is charming, well-performed, and refreshing, while still satisfying the itch of desire for a traditional half-hour sitcom.

With that in mind, I was looking forward to the return of the show in its 3rd season premiere. What we got, though, was hamfisted, slapdash 22-minute commercial for Disneyland. Forgive me: Disneyland Resort, and we are repeatedly reminded of the branding that nobody uses. It's not like Disneyland is some mystery entity nobody knows about. The mildly interesting plot points were drowned in mentions of attractions and placement of Disney merchandise. It was insulting and makes me wonder if the show will continue to devolve into something stupid.

Disney forced marketing episode
ergo_zoom22 September 2022
This episode is just one giant Disney product (resort) advertisement. Every mention of the resort is painfully coerced. I'm guessing the writers were held hostage after Disney resorts post-Covid suffering loses and Disney being their bosses. They even throw in all the new rides/locations by name at Disneyland in the most awkward way and push all the merchandise sold at the park. (and the music is a terrible fit.). I'm sure the actors looked at the script and groaned. (There is a monologue that just jams in as many ride names as possible for no reason.) Really hoping there aren't more episodes like this for the season. Bad start.
