Sweeping into snowy Scottish Highlands at the very start of Ryan Hendrick’s new romcom Lost at Christmas sets the perfect festive scene. Only the coldest of hearts would not be melted by this magnificent sight. The film’s idyllic setting continues to entice throughout the story, with the latter half played out in an isolated inn set within the impressive mountainous landscape – the stuff of picturesque Christmas dreams.
Based on acclaimed 2015 short Perfect Strangers by the same writer-director, the 2020 feature sees two strangers from Glasgow, optimistic and festive Jen (Love Bite and Still Game‘s Natalie Clark) and cynical Rob stranded in the Highlands after both being dumped/duped on on Christmas Eve. They decide to team up to get back to the big city in time for Christmas Day, but have obstacles placed along the way, including the unpredictable weather, that allows for feelings to flourish and Christmas spirit to reign once more.

Outlander fans are very familiar with horrifying villains. The antagonist of the show's earliest seasons, Black Jack Randall, was about as bad as a bad guy can get. In the upcoming fourth season, though, a new character might be giving Black Jack a run for his money. Irish pirate Stephen Bonnet, as fans of Diana Gabaldon's books will know, appears charming and handsome on the outside, but it doesn't take long for his awful nature to show itself. It's new territory for actor Ed Speleers, who plays Bonnet, and has previously made a career as fairly heroic characters.
Speleers started his career in a pretty magical way (pun intended). At the age of eighteen, after only appearing in school plays in England, he was plucked from a worldwide casting call to play the lead role in 2006's young adult fantasy epic Eragon. The movie, based on the first novel...

Give them a try ’cause for the virgins of Rainmouth, things are going to get hairy! Another week, another box-office record smashed by Sam Mendes’ Skyfall. The twenty-third Bond became the fastest movie ever to take £50million after it amassed a grand total of £53million in just ten days. It’s now only a few million shy of The Dark Knight Rises total Box Office haul and looks odds on to become the highest grossing film of the year. It took a whopping £16million this past week and is absolutely streets ahead of Madagascar 3 which remains in second place with a solid and yet comparatively meagre £2.8million weekly haul. It really is astonishing just how popular Skyfall is proving to be. Everyone expected it to do well but to outshine mega-blockbuster franchise juggernauts like Avengers and Batman is really quite something. Turns out there’s life in the old tux-wearing dog yet.

Argo (15)
(Ben Affleck, 2012, Us) Ben Affleck, Bryan Cranston, Alan Arkin, John Goodman, 120 mins
Affleck's rehabilitation is complete thanks to this unlikely-but-true collision of Hollywood sci-fi and Iranian politics. It looks and feels like a lost 1970s thriller, with perfect retro styling and slow-burning tension, all nicely undercut by a CIA agent's crazy plan to use a Star Wars knock-off to spirit Americans out of revolutionary Tehran. Alps (15)
(Giorgos Lanthimos, 2011, Gre) Stavros Psyllakis, Aris Servetalis, 93 mins

We’ve seen the whole losing of virginity narrative before, in fact American Pie was entirely based around that very premise – yet director Andy De Emmony brings us a somewhat unique spin to what has become a conventional cinematic device, embellishing upon a much-told subject matter, as these boys don’t just want to pop their cherry, they absolutely need to.
Set in the uncompromising seaside town of Rainmouth, virgin Jamie (Ed Speleers) and his three best friends Kev (Luke Pasqualino), Bruno (Robin Morrissey) and Spike (Daniel Kendrick) spend the majority of their days hanging around in arcades and chip shops, struggling to find any inspiration in their lives – until American travel writer Juliana (Jessica Szohr) comes to stay, as she catches the eye of romanticist Jamie.

It’s not everyday you see a film about werewolves hunting virgins in a small English seaside town, but in Andy De Emmony’s Love Bite, that’s exactly what we’re treated, and ahead of the film’s pending release – on November 9th – I was fortunate enough to catch up with leading stars Ed Speleers and Luka Pasqualino.
The pair play two young men, bored of life in the town of Rainmouth, and desperately hoping for a route out one day. However, their somewhat placid existence is soon put at threat when a werewolf stars attacking local residents, with Jamie’s (Speleers) love interest Juliana (Jessica Szohr) a prime suspect.

There’ll be a host of fresh faces at Downton Abbey when the show comes back to the UK’s ITV later this year. Details are slight for the moment, but I’ve confirmed Ed Speleers has joined the cast as new footman Jimmy. Speleers, known for 2006′s dragon adventure Eragon, will next be seen with Timothy Spall and Jessica Szohr in the horror comedy Love Bite. Other recent staffers to join the Grantham estate include War Horse‘s Matt Milne as Alfred, a footman who’s also the nephew of is-she-or-isn’t-she-evil lady’s maid O’Brien. Newcomers Cara Theobold and Lucille Sharp are also on board as maids. In January, Shirley MacLaine signed on to play mother to Elizabeth McGovern’s Cora Grantham — and a foil for Maggie Smith’s irrepressible Dowager Countess. Regarding the contract status of Smith and Dan Stevens (who plays Matthew Crawley on the...

It's a shame it hadn't been hottie Jessica Szohr ('Piranha 3D') caught with her pants down on set of new British horror comedy 'Love Bite'. Luke Pasqualino ('Skins') and Ed Speelers ('A Lonely Place to Die') join Miss Szohr in Andy de Emmony's new werewolf comedy for West End Films. The movie recently moved into post-production following it's shoot in Scotland so hopefully we'll get a release date announced very soon. In the meantime Bloody Disgusting have gifted us with a peek at a new on set still featuring Jessica, plus some new teaser artwork and a new teaser trailer! The teaser doesn't exactly have a polished feel to it at this stage but still has a general sense of fun to it. Check out the new assets below....

This article is so much more than just an excuse to run the above image of my future third wife Jessica Szohr. It's also about love. And death. And... Aw, screw it. The former Gossip Girl star, whom genre fans know best as the human shot glass in Piranha 3D, has just finished work on another horror comedy, Love Bite. Described as a "werewolf sex-comedy-horror movie," it's just been picked up for release in the U.K., which means a U.S. distributor shouldn't be far behind. More after the jump. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Entertainment Film Distributors has chewed up all U.K. rights to Andy de Emmony's werewolf comedy-horror film Love Bite, starring former Gossip Girl actress Jessica...

Things are about to get hairy for Jessica Szohr.
The "Gossip Girl" beauty will soon be wolfing out in the new horror comedy, "Love Bite," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Love Bite" takes place in the dead-end town of Rainmouth, where the local young folk believe a series of gruesome murders is the work of a werewolf feeding on virgin flesh. Suddenly, the only way to stay safe is to get laid... or is it?

It’s been a while since we’ve heard much from Ed Speleers, who had the misfortune of his “big break” being fantasy flop Eragon. Since then, he’s notched up a few film roles, and will be seen in this week’s thriller A Lonely Place to Die alongside web chat subject Melissa George. But he’s also aboard a slightly less sensible movie, having nabbed a role in Andy de Emmony’s horror comedy Love Bite.Bite, which will also feature The Borgias’ Luke Pasqualino and Piranha’s Jessica Szohr, follows what happens when a small, dead-end town is thrown into chaos after a werewolf starts snacking on the residents. It would seem that the beast is targeting the local virgins (who, let’s face it, usually, get a bad run of things in horror movies) and four friends decide that if they’re going to survive, they...
