This is probably the best season pilot that the show has, to be honest. This is the episode that Lassie finds out that Shawn and Juliet are together, and that creates a rift between Lassie and Jules for a while. This also is the first epsiode where there is fear that Shawn's truth of not being psychic comes through, and one begins to wonder if the truth will ever be revealed. But Shawn is able to avoid the fallout of this happening by straight up passing a lie detector test, which is able to make it seem like Shawn really was still psychic. Because while people kind of know he isn't, until there is irrefutable proof, nothing can be done.
