Scott Land met E.M. Fredric at an industry screening. She was already a fan of Team America: World Police and when he heard her idea for the opening of Shorty & Morty he came on board, 3 weeks before shooting.
Shot in two days, under 30 hours with 11 cast members (including marionettes "Chuck & Ellen") and around Scott Land's schedule.
Firsts: Dylan Bocanegra first production design, props, original illustrations for opening and credits, also first speaking role. Emery Emery, first credited acting role. Steve Huber, played with Placido Domingo, this is his first film score.
The two most difficult things to get in this no-budget short were the location and the little person.
The crutch leg used for Celine's character was actually walked on in the film for a few steps and built by Dylan Bocanegra but consulted by Brian Penakis.
