Medical Documentary
neuroman8422 July 2012
A very moving and, for me, personally relevant documentary. In 2007 actress Maryam d'Abo suffered a Sub Arachnoid Haemorrhage, this is her story. It follows the ups and downs of what is a life changing event.

This documentary made by, her husband, Hugh Hudson, explores the background and effect of this major personal trauma. It examines the causes and effects of this momentous event on the individuals affected. With background from neuro-surgeons and cases of those affected. This a fascinating insight into a complex medical condition.

At times both traumatic and uplifting, this is an intelligent and informative documentary.

And for me the personal relevance. I suffered three Sub Arachnoid Haemorrhages over 28 years ago, underwent major neuro-surgery and contracted Meningitis. After viewing this programme I consider myself to be "One of the fortunate few".

This is Highly recommended to anyone with an interest in medical or scientific subjects.
