Gorgeous animation and love the concept!

As a first generation Christian and a parent to young children, I absolutely adore this series.

The animation is fantastic and the storylines are very cute and touching. The music is very beautiful and adds a lot of emotion to the show.

As an adult, I can notice the parallels between David's love for his flock and Jesus' love for us. Yet, my children love the different sheep and know all of their names. My three year old daughter asks to watch all three available episodes every day. I throughly enjoy watching these episodes with my children and can't wait for the next one to drop! Thank you for making this content!!

Excellent Retelling of David's Story

Warning: Spoilers
All three episodes so far focus on themes for which David was known, but in which he operates as a type of Christ. It truly shows how David was a "man after God's own heart" as he trusts God for protection, is willing to risk his life for his sheep, knows them each by name, and cares for them with a "reckless love." You are introduced to a few other key characters in the David story including, little sister Zeruaiah, Doeg the Edomite, and big brother Eliab. This is an artful but biblically accurate telling of David's story. The shorts are short-about 6 minutes total. I honestly wish they were longer. Each episode leaves me wanting more and having to wait for the weekly releases are frustrating-especially in today's streaming age. I can't wait until the full length animated David movie releases. This, as well as other Angel Studios productions are very well done.

For an animated short it's OK... but

So I love the story of David and, was really excited when I heard angel studios was making a David movie in the vein of The Prince of Egypt, one of my favorite animated films of all time, and they said they wanted to make an authentic, epic story on that scale, and had already crowd funded about $50m dollars. Which is a lot of money.

With a non-major studio you should be able to get a film looking about as good as a Disney movie with that much dough. (dreamworks as been making gorgeous looking animated films for around that price range, Disney just seems to have forgotten how to budget so everything costs them $200m+ )

And while this is just a short, it does look worse than the promo that was released and the story is incredibly childish.

I really hope the film is a mature movie that is family friendly enough that kids can enjoy. Not a watered down kids movie about David, but that is exactly what this short is.

I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt for now as this is just a 5minute short and the movie is still over a year away. But if this is the tone of the film I am not impressed.
