When Hardcase is learning to fly the ship, Fives desperately tries to create an explanation for Krell. This scene is very similar to the famous scene Episode IV: A New Hope (1977) when Han Solo desperately tries to explain to the Imperials that there's nothing wrong during Princess Leia's prison break. Additionally, this is the only time in the Star Wars Universe where the word "alien" is used.
This episode introduces the Republic Z-95 Headhunter Starfighter. This ship has similarities to both the Republic ARC-170 and the Rebels T-65 X-Wing, the difference being the number of wings on each starfighter. The Headhunter is often considered the predecessor to the X-Wing
The Force Theme plays while fives talks about Anakin blowing up a droid ship as a kid.
The 'Jedi fortune cookie' message that opens the show reads "The wise man leads, the strong man follows."
