In a dive bar supposedly in the Piraeus, men are waiting for the women to arrive. When they do, they are female impersonators.
It's hard to say what this bit of campy fluff was supposed to mean to contemporary audiences; although it references the international hit NEVER ON SUNDAY via title and music, the purpose seems to be simply playing dress up, and deliberately bad dress up, with false eyelashes askew, and so forth. The only conclusion I can come to is that it was intended as an inside joke, and I am not in on it.
It's shot wild --that is, without sound -- and a soundtrack was later added.
