Amazing documentary about a magical place
marceldorian16 August 2022
Greenland is such a mythical place. Once the edge of the world, a place where hunting and fishing were the main jobs is today a place of change. Through a series of interviews with the older generation and amazing drone footage we learn it's history. We also tip our toes into the concept of 24 hour daylight and what that means to the inhabitants.

If you are looking for an informative and visually stunning documentary, look no further.

An Enlightening Film about a Misunderstood Culture
briandilorenzofilm6 August 2022
"A Greenland Story" is a beautiful film about an often misunderstood country. Gorgeous aerial footage and soothing narration will transport you to the hauntingly beautiful landscape. Whales swim past the shoreline, popping up and diving below the surface. Some of the shots are simply awe-inspiring. To be honest, I had a bit of a difficult time watching the hunting segments. Hunting is an important part of the indigenous culture but some of the archival footage made me have to close my eyes. The high school student graduation segment was touching to watch and also very educational (also love the sweaters!) 24-hour daylight is something I can't really wrap my mind around but the film captures it beautifully. The later passages about the melting of ice sheets were urgent and passionately crafted. It's brisk 52 minute running time and engaging subject matter makes this a very easy watch. Check it out today!

Eye opening documentary on the reality of our global community .

This is a great documentary that shares the history of Greenland and its people and the reality of what globalization has done to its society. Interviews with the locals give you insight into where the country came from, where it's going and its struggle to hold on to its unique culture. Love the production team's ability to capture the unbiased reality of the current state of Greenlands situation. Great shots of this rarely captured island and its natural setting and beautiful wildlife. Highly recommend for anyone interested in Greenland's culture, or climate changes impact on our planet. This documentary does an excellent job of getting the local people to explain their culture, challenges and hopes for the future. If you have an hour it merits a much wider audience.

A Unique Insight into a Nation at a Crossroads
timothydelany5 September 2022
A documentary looking at life in Greenland interwoven with incredible shots of the landscape. Interviews with locals highlight the complicated predicament they face with impending environmental collapse affecting all aspects of society. Well worth a watch, beautifully shot with background tones.

The story gives food for thought on how to maintain tradition in an ever changing world. A connection is built with these various characters, leaving thoughts in your mind as to what the future holds.

The dulcet tones of the narrator bring you through a cultural experience of those living off the land and sea alike.

The Greenland Inhabitants, a unique Culture and Heritage
limjoehk17 September 2022
A superb introduction to the Greenland Story with an amazing opening scene of the white gigantic iceberg and the sudden appearance of the humpback whale hissing spouts of water breaking the eerie silence of the vast white, cold and stunning environment of beautiful Greenland.

The involvement of the local Inuits of different ages in the interviews provide a brief and welcoming insight to the understanding of the Inuit Culture and Heritage.

The photography of the entire documentary including its aerial view is extremely well directed.

The people seem very happy but also very worried about the climate change which could change the environment they live in.

A repeat documentary in later years would be most welcome to learn how they have progressed.

It's a must watch documentary
