Sex & Nudity

  • There are implications of a past affair between Strickland and the wife of a former colleague. She says that Strickland used to think checking into a hotel was a good idea. There are obvious feelings between them even after 30 years.
  • It is stated that a suspect was involved in prostitution and sex trafficking.

  • Most of the violence in 'New Tricks' is usually talked about, rather than seen, because it occurred years earlier. However this episode begins with an explosion in an unsuccessful attempt to kill a man.
  • We see a police officer held at gunpoint.
  • We hear of a man being deliberately run over in front of his 9 year old daughter.
  • Steve knocks an informant off his chair. He then tries to break the man's fingers.
  • There is a gun battle - several shots are fired and several men are hit - blood is seen all over the shirt of one man and coming from his mouth. Gerry runs over one of the shooters in his car.
  • Steve gets into a fight with a suspect. They push and shove each other.

  • A suspect was alleged to have sold drugs for the IRA.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The IRA and their past activities form a backdrop to this episode. That may be upsetting to some who were victims or knew people who were involved.
