One problem with a few short films I've seen recently is that they don't feel like complete short films in their own right but are more like calling cards asking if you give them some money they'll make a feature length movie around the segment they've just filmed . The 2013 Edward Snowden themed short VERAX would be a great example of this and instantly had this film GAME by Josh McDonald down as being in the same manner . To be totally honest there is an element of this here and this is what stops GAME getting a higher mark , but instead of a seen it all before backwoods brutality torture porn movie with hapless victim and rednecks there's a neat little twist to it which fascinated me and had me begging for some more of the story
