- As he and Cathy (Laura Linney) prepare to adopt, Paul (Oliver Platt) entertains a big shot producer's (guest star Allison Janney) offer to turn his blog into movie. But when Cathy decides she doesn't like where the film is going, she balks. Meanwhile, Sean's (John Benjamin Hickey) face-to-face date with a phone sex client produces a surprising result.—Anonymous
- Following a serious dispute with his mother about the adoption, Adam has moved in with his Uncle Sean. Being in closer quarters, each of Sean and Adam learns a little more about the other's current life, Adam's life in relation to Jesse. Sean tries to give Adam a clearer perspective of what he and Jesse are doing. Out of circumstances with Adam, Sean ends up getting out of his Willy Wanker character with a client, and finds that things are not always black and white, or in this case gay or straight. As the adoption process proceeds with the Coopers, Cathy in particular dreams more about her future larger family, and the fact that Dave Cooper seems to becoming more an integral part of that future, if only in the short term. And on Paul and Ababu's first out-of-town speaking gig with Joy in Duluth, they meet Hollywood movie producer Rita Strauss. Strauss' proposal to Paul and Cathy results in a mixed reaction.—Huggo
