Shia Labeouf is no stranger to taking risks for the sake of art, but his next film will really have him pushing his limits. Labeouf has signed on to appear in Lars von Trier's "Nymphomaniac" and the actor admitted to MTV that he's pretty scared about what he's gotten himself into with the film.
"[Von Trier] is very dangerous," he said in the MTV interview. "He's the most dangerous dude that I've ever showed up for. I'm terrified. I'm so terrified, which is why I have to go. We'll see what happens."
The film, which follows the story of a woman's sexual history, narrated by her husband, reportedly also stars Charlotte Gainsbourg and Stellan Skarsgard, while Nicole Kidman is also rumored to be attached. It's been reported Labeouf could possible play one of the Gainsbourg's lovers in the film.

Shia Labeouf is reportedly lining up to join in "Nymphomanic," Lars Von Trier's upcoming (and steamy) drama, according to a source who tipped off THR.
The project currently stars Von Trier's frequent collaborator Charlotte Gainsbourg ("Melancholia"), whose character's sexual history is the focus of the film. Her husband, to be played by Stellan Skarsgard, narrates. It's possible -- but not confirmed -- that Labeouf would play one of Gainsbourg's lovers. Nicole Kidman has also recently hinted that she is attached.
As The Wrap notes, Von Trier -- whose production company has produced explicit movies -- is no stranger to erotic cinema. "Nymphomaniac," which will be released in two films, will see two different versions of each: a graphic edit and a softer cut.
Perhaps Labeouf's appearance in a recent Sigur Ros video has helped endear him to the director. In the visual for “Fjögur Píanó," the actor appears in the buff (sorry!

After doing the Fjögur Píanó video for Sigur Rós, perhaps Shia Labeouf wants to do some more artful nudity, or maybe he really wants to work with Lars von Trier. Labeouf is currently in talks to take a role in Von Trier's two-part erotic drama, Nymphomaniac. The film chronicles, "the erotic adventures of a woman (Charlotte Gainsbourg) from her youth to age 50, as recounted to her husband (Stellan Skarsgard). It's not clear how big Labeouf's role would be." Okay, so I don't...

Just last week, Miley Cyrus made an appearance in her brother Trace's video for his Ashland High song “Sippin’ On Sunshine." And in June, Mischa Barton stripped down to her skivvies for Noel Gallagher's "Everybody's on the Run," Shia Labeouf went full-frontal for Sigur Rós' “Fjögur Píanó” and Daniel Radcliffe lip-synched in a Hawaiian shirt to Slow Club's "Beginners."

On the heels of Alma Har’el’s wonderful video for Sigur Ros’ “Fjögur Píanó” (which may be the best thing Shia Labeouf has ever done) comes another entry from an American independent filmmaker in the Icelandic band’s Mystery Film Experiment. After Sigur Ros’ keyboard player Kjartan Sveinsson did the music for Ramin Bahrani’s 2009 short Plastic Bag, the band chose the Man Push Cart director to make a video for ‘Ég Anda,” the fifth entry in the Mystery Film Experiment. Valtari, the group’s new album, is much more understated and less grand in scope than their previous records, and so the videos that have arisen from it are notably different from, say, the dazzlingly cinematic “Glósóli”. As far as I know, this is Bahrani’s first pop promo, and I think it’s unusual and quietly powerful.

Containing the same truthful fusion of fantasy and reality as found in her documentary Bombay Beach, filmmaker Alma Har’el’s latest work is a provocative and dramatically compelling short film for the Icelandic band Sigur Ros, made as part of the group’s Mystery Film Eeperiment. For the Project, the band invited a dozen filmmakers to select a track from their new album, Valtari, gave them the same modest budget, and told them to do what they saw in their heads. “The idea is to bypass the usual artistic approval process and allow people utmost creative freedom,” they wrote on their site. In the case of Har’el, the result is “Fjögur Píanó,” a wildly ambitious emotional journey in which a couple — Shia Labeouf and Denna Thomsen — passes through all the stages of a relationship amidst imagery ranging from psychedelic drug trips to a room decorated with butterflies. And,...

But Shia La Beouf thinks it will improve his acting credentials
Some say the best way to be taken seriously as an actor is not to appear in terrible films. Shia Labeouf has decided on the shortcut: getting naked in the name of Serious Art.
To this end, the band Sigur Rós this week unveiled a video for Fjögur Píanó. The video features a clear shot of the "Labeouf medallion", a woman (not Geri) with stuff written on her back, and an octopus.
I'm not sure if you're familiar with the Sigur Rós canon but Fjögur Píanó is just as jaunty and fun-packed as the rest of the band's hits and the video is one of the year's more pretentious efforts. Even so, my main grumble is that if you or I stripped at a Sigur Rós show we would not be taken more seriously. We would be arrested. A...
