In the state of New York rape in the third degree is charged when either a person over the age of 21 has sexual intercourse with another person under the age of 17, or when a person has sexual intercourse with another person and they are unable to consent due to being mentally disabled or being physically helpless. It is a class E felony and carries a sentence of either 10 years probation (usually for first time offenders) or for someone with a prior record a minimum sentence of one year in prison and a maximum of four years, followed by five years post-prison probation.
"13 Moons (Seeds)" is a public art installation (from June 21, 2022 to June 20, 2023) developed by the Peruvian artist Jaime Miranda-Bambaren with the support of the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation. While the detectives Olivia Benson and Amanda Rollins have a serious conversation at a park (scene shot at Thomas Paine Park, Manhattan, New York) (36:02-37:06), it is possible to observe in the background a few of the thirteen heavy sculptures (between one and five tons) of the public art installation.
While shooting on location (Thomas Paine Park, Manhattan, New York), Mariska Hargitay was deeply impressed by the public art installation displayed there. "13 Moons (Seeds)" (from June 21, 2022 to June 20, 2023.) was an installation developed by the Peruvian artist Jaime Miranda-Bambaren with the support of the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation. Mariska Hargitay interviewed the artist, who happened to be there, and posted a video on Instagram expressing her excitement and appreciation for the heavy sculptures made of eucalyptus wood. Posted on August 11, 2022, the video had received 128,566 likes on November 10, 2022.
