In the U.S. Army a Stryker Brigade is a mechanized infantry unit that operates the Stryker variant of the General Dynamics Light Armored Vehicles which are also used by the Canadian and New Zealand Armies. The Strykers are a family of eight-wheeled armored combat vehicles developed for the U.S. Army, they are operated by a crew of two and can transport nine passengers. They can be fitted with several different armaments including the M2 Browning .50 caliber heavy machine gun, 40 mm Mk-19 grenade launcher, 30 mm Mk-44 Bushmaster II chain gun or the 105 mm M68A2 gun from the M1 Abrams tank.
